Hibiscus tea is a flower tea made from hibiscus flowers. This tea tree belongs to the Malvaceae family. Hibiscus can grow as an annual herbaceous plant or as a perennial shrub.

Hibiscus is also contraindicated for those who have stones or sand in the genitourinary system - after prolonged use of tea, the symptoms of the disease may worsen.

So, tea is only useful for hypertensive patients. For hypotensive patients with low blood pressure, tea will lower blood pressure even more and can only make it worse.

Does hot hibiscus tea increase blood pressure?

Hot hibiscus does not increase blood pressure. This tea can be drunk both hot and cold, it is useful at any temperature. And if you are still a connoisseur of hot tea, you need to know how to brew it correctly. To do this, use whole flowers, not ground or powdered. You can either boil the flowers in boiling water for ten minutes or simply pour boiling water over them. But when boiling, it is important not to overdo it - boiling the flowers for more than ten minutes will only kill all the usefulness. The taste will be worse.

Try pouring boiling water over hibiscus flowers. This should only be done in glass, porcelain or ceramics. Metal objects kill the taste of this drink.
