Irga is not a very popular berry in our region, although it grows in Ukraine (and also in Russia, Japan, Europe, America). In appearance, the fruit resembles a dog rose, only the color of ripe berries is not red, but blue. Its unusual sweetish-tart taste and pleasant aroma is quite attractive, and the rich chemical composition of berries makes them not only tasty, but also curative dessert.

Benefits

The berry contains in large quantities vitamins C, A and P, as well as a complex of B vitamins that are of great value in metabolic disorders. From the trace elements in the fruits prevail copper and cobalt.

Irga is considered a berry with good antioxidant properties, which provides a high content of ascorbic acid and carotene. Thanks to this property of berries it helps to maintain immunity, facilitates the course of the disease, increases stress resistance. The fruits of irgi help to remove radionuclides and harmful substances from the body, reduce the cholesterol in the blood, positively affect the efficiency of the heart, improve the digestive system, effectively fight inflammatory processes in the digestive tract, reduce the excitability of the nervous system.

Irgi berries have no effect on blood glucose level, but low caloric content (45 kcal) and glycemic index equal to 20, allow to include berries in diet of diabetics as a restorative, multivitamin agent. The carbohydrate content in the berry ranges from 7 to 15 g, but this is mainly fructose, which does not require additional insulin production. The high fiber content in the fruit does not allow the plant sugars to be quickly absorbed and penetrated into the blood.

With diabetes of any type, irg can be consumed in fresh, frozen or dried form, as well as in juices, fruit drinks, compotes, jelly, jam without sugar. Fresh berries can be consumed in the amount of 1 cup.

Contraindications

This valuable vitamin plant has many useful properties that can play a cruel joke with some concomitant diseases. Reduction of blood pressure, which is necessary for hypertension, will be dangerous for hypotonic patients, whose blood pressure indicators are already pathologically low. The ability of the berries to dilute the blood will be useful to the cores and patients with a tendency to thrombosis, but people whose activities are associated with an increased risk of injury, this property will only cause problems, because it will only increase the bleeding from the wounds.

Irga has a calming effect on the nervous system, which is very useful in terms of stress resistance and a full night's rest, but for people whose activities involve concentration of attention, this influence is of no use, because it will be potentially dangerous.

All these contraindications are relevant in the case of the use of berries in significant quantities, while a couple of fragrant fruits are unlikely to harm anyone.
