Indications for pelvic ultrasound

  1. Pelvic pain, including algomenorrhea (painful menstruation).
  2. Formations in the pelvis.
  3. Acyclic uterine bleeding.
  4. Pathological vaginal discharge.
  5. Amenorrhea (absence of menstruation or irregular menstruation).
  6. Clarification of the presence and location of the intrauterine contraceptive device.
  7. Infertility: Hysterosalpingography is often also necessary.
  8. Anomalies in the development of the pelvic organs: hysterosalpingography is also often necessary.
  9. Symptoms of bladder or urinary tract disease.
  10. Diffuse abdominal pain.
  11. Dynamics of follicle growth to determine the cause of infertility.

Ultrasound does not determine the anatomy of a vesicovaginal fistula, but complications are detected by ultrasound examination.
