- Pain in the kidneys or along the ureters.
- Suspected renal tumor (large kidney).
- A non-functioning kidney, according to urography.
- Hematuria.
- Chronic urinary tract infection.
- Injury.
- Suspicion of polycystic disease.
- Fever of unknown origin or postoperative complications.
- Renal failure of unknown origin.
- Schistosomiasis.
