Herbs for colon cleansing

Herbs for bowel cleansing have been actively used in medicine for many decades. This fact is due to the fact that human health depends on the clear and coordinated work of all organs and systems. One of the foundations of our body's existence is fully synthesized proteins, for the formation of which it is necessary to have a digestive system that works as clearly as possible, allowing for high-quality absorption of nutrients. The largest digestive organ of our body is the intestine. It is in it that the breakdown of complex fats, proteins and carbohydrates occurs with their subsequent absorption. It is in the intestine that some vital amino acids and vitamins are synthesized, for example, vitamin B3 and vitamin K. Like any organ that works constantly and with heavy loads, the intestine needs some measures to maintain its performance. The most accessible way to take care of your own intestines is to cleanse them.
Herbs for bowel cleansing are an example of gentle and effective "preventive" repair. Living organisms require periodic intake of a maintenance course of vitamins and microelements, diet, "fasting" days, cleansing, and the introduction of bifido- and acidobacteria. Today, there are many ways to cleanse the intestines at home using herbs, a certain set of products, or medicines. In any case, when choosing cleansing products, you should take into account the time it will take to restore normal bowel function.

Colon Cleansing with Bran
Cleansing the intestines with bran can be the easiest and most enjoyable way to cleanse. Regular bran (a whole grain processing product) contains the grain shell, partly the grain germ, has a high fiber content and is very low in calories. Cleansing the intestines with bran begins in the morning, brewed bran should be eaten for breakfast, a little later, an hour later, you can have a second breakfast, but exclude salty, fatty, spicy, fried foods. The essence of the method is the use of coarse fiber, which is saturated with water when brewed, creating a large volume of mass with virtually no calories. Irritating the intestinal walls, a large volume of coarse fibers passes like a broom along the entire length of the intestine, enhancing its peristalsis. Cleansing the intestines with bran causes a feeling of satiety, promotes weight loss, normalizes stool and stimulates the secretory organs (especially the gallbladder).
How do you do bran cleansing?
The duration of taking bran is individual. Due to the fact that this type of product is not addictive and has virtually no side effects, the use of bran can be unlimited in time, however, to prevent the development of irritable bowel syndrome, you should take breaks in taking it, not abusing this natural remedy. The best option is a monthly course of breakfasts with brewed bran with monthly breaks. It is imperative to brew bran, since taking a dry product can have an excessive irritating effect and lead to microtrauma of the mucous membrane.
How often should you clean?
If necessary, bran intake can be continued for life without long breaks. The only thing that limits the intake of bran porridge is the factor of bran becoming boring as a type of food. However, bran can be salted, slightly sugared, consumed with various oils, which somewhat brightens up the monotony.
Juice Colon Cleanse
Juice colon cleansing, unlike cleansing with bran, is somewhat more complicated, but no less effective. When choosing juice, keep in mind that the most natural juices are apple, grape, tomato (or vegetable). Remember that potato juice contains a lot of raw starch and can be constipating. Juices from fruits that do not grow in your area can be made from concentrates containing a large amount of sugar, among them, fake drinks are most often found. Freshly prepared juices are considered the most effective (as little time as possible should pass from the moment of preparation to consumption, since oxidation processes and spoilage of the product begin from the moment of destruction of plant cells). When using industrial juices, remember about sugars and preservatives, information about which should be on the packaging. If the presence of preservatives simply does not bring benefits, then excess sugars can cause fermentation in the intestines, add some weight, cause thirst and generally reduce the benefits of cleansing.
How to do a juice colon cleanse?
It is recommended for people who do not have gastritis, gastroduodenitis, ulcerative or pre-ulcerative conditions. These restrictions are related to the presence of fruit acids and the irritating effect of juices. When doing juice cleansing, you should stick to a fasting diet, some juices (for example, cabbage) can cause flatulence, continue the cleansing process during the day, the amount of juice, as a rule, is not limited.
How often should you clean?
It is advisable to carry out such cleansing no more than 1-2 times a month. Many juices irritate the intestinal mucosa, some are so bactericidal that they suppress the flora. Remember that the acids contained in juices can have a detrimental effect on tooth enamel.
Apple Colon Cleanse
Apple bowel cleansing involves eating whole apples without removing the pulp. Ripe apples, as a rule, do not contain much acid, but they can still irritate the mucous membrane prone to gastritis, this feature should be taken into account when choosing varieties for cleansing. To eat apples for bowel cleansing, you should choose ripe, whole fruits, in no case should they show signs of spoilage or damage to the integrity of the peel (colonies of various microorganisms develop very quickly in a nutrient medium with fructose). Apples contain not only vitamins, but also pectins - soluble dietary fiber. Unlike coarse insoluble fiber, pectins have the most gentle effect on the intestinal mucosa (but it should be remembered that apple peel is coarse insoluble fiber and can come out undigested). Pectin is practically not absorbed by humans, therefore, the calorie content of the diet is determined only by the fructose (sweetness) of the apples themselves.
How to do apple colon cleanse?
Apples should be consumed in quantities of up to 2 kg per day, consuming other products is excluded. The frequency of such days should not exceed 2 times a month. During apple cleansing, you can drink water (regular or mineral).
How often should you clean?
In the absence of obvious intestinal problems, as well as for prevention, it is enough to do an apple intestinal cleanse once a month. As a rule, after the New Year, apples retain very few vitamins, the amount and quality of pectins does not change. Remember that the acid contained in apples can destroy tooth enamel, so you should rinse your teeth thoroughly after each meal.
Colon cleansing with raw vegetables
In practice, cleansing the intestines with raw vegetables looks like a raw food diet combined with vegetarianism. Any vegetables that are traditionally used to make salads are suitable for this method, as well as some types of vegetables that can be eaten raw (for example, cauliflower). If you resort to the salad-making method, you should remember that the salad can be seasoned with any vegetable oil and lightly salted. Various sauces, spices and sour cream cannot be consumed, and you should also exclude the use of other products (especially cooked potatoes, bread).
How to cleanse your intestines with raw vegetables?
You cannot combine cleansing with the consumption of sugars (including fructose, which is found in juices and fruits). You can eat about 2 kg of vegetables per day, but it is not rational to continue cleansing for more than a day, since the fiber from raw vegetables will perfectly cope with cleansing in a day, a longer period of eating only raw vegetables can lead to a change in the intestinal microflora, and some substances in vegetables with prolonged use (for example, carotene in carrots) can stain the skin and sclera.
How often should you clean?
You can repeat the cleaning with raw vegetables 1-2 times a month, it should be taken into account that in winter many imported vegetables may contain preservatives. After the New Year, the amount of nitrates in domestic vegetables is almost always below the norm, but in the fall there may be much more nitrates in vegetables.
Colon cleansing with herbal infusions
Cleansing with herbal infusions requires a person to know the medicinal properties of herbs.
The most commonly used herbal infusions are:
- Seeds of herbs (dill, fennel) take in equal parts, rose hips (fruits) take 5 times more herbs, immortelle (inflorescences), buckthorn (bark), birch (buds) take in equal parts, in the same proportion with herbs. In 1 liter of boiling water put 2 tablespoons of the collection, leave for 40 minutes and take half a glass 30 minutes before meals.
- Mix tansy flowers, fennel seeds, buckthorn bark in equal proportions with motherwort, dandelion root and yarrow in a ratio of 1 to 5, brew 2 tablespoons of the mixture with a liter of boiling water, leave for half an hour and take half a glass 30 minutes before meals.
Mix marshmallow root, horsetail and flax seeds in equal proportions, take 1 tablespoon of the mixture, boil with 1 glass of water and boil for 10-15 minutes, leave for an hour and take half of the decoction before bed, the other half in the morning.
It should be taken into account that the herbal composition is usually prepared in combination with laxative, choleretic, choleretic and disinfectant properties of plants. For example, from herbs with a laxative effect, choose buckthorn bark, lingonberry leaf, centaury, goosefoot, tansy, horse sorrel. Herbs with a choleretic effect: dandelion root, corn silk, calamus root, wild strawberry leaf. Herbs with an aseptic effect: calendula flowers, chamomile flowers, thyme, sage.
In cases where treatment with a certain pronounced effect is required, cleansing with herbal infusions can be done by a nutritionist or herbalist. Individual intolerance to components, possible immediate allergic reactions, the effect of addiction and accumulation should be taken into account.
Cleansing with herbal infusions can have a prolonged effect, which should be taken into account by those working. Cleansing with herbs should be done no more than once a week, except in cases where taking herbs is necessary - for example, tablets of senna leaves and buckthorn bark can replace artificially created laxatives for many years.
Colon cleansing with wormwood
Cleansing the intestines with wormwood is one of the types of cleansing with herbs, but it differs in that wormwood has slightly toxic properties, with prolonged use there is an accumulation effect and can manifest itself in mental changes (nervousness, altered perception of colors, sleep disorders, lack of appetite). Wormwood is collected for treatment in ecologically clean areas, taken in dry form (powder) and in the form of teas. As a rule, cleansing the intestines with wormwood is associated with the need to expel parasites or eliminate putrefactive processes in the intestines.
[ 4 ]
How to do a colon cleanse with wormwood?
For the entire course, 50 to 100 grams of powder is enough (depending on the age and weight of the patient). If wormwood tea is chosen as a cleansing, the course also cannot exceed 7 days. Tea is brewed at the rate of 1 teaspoon of wormwood per 1 liter of boiling water. Wormwood tea is brewed and drunk no more than 0.5 liters during the day, regardless of food intake, the remaining 0.5 liters are used as an enema. It is imperative to exclude all animal products, spices, alcohol, nicotine.
How often should you clean?
The course is carried out once and in a complex manner (not more than once a year for 7 days), the restriction is related to the toxicity of the plant. When taking wormwood, it is forbidden to consume animal proteins, animal fats, sugars, spices, alcohol. The first 3 days, wormwood is taken every 2.5 hours in the form of a pinch of powder, regardless of food intake, washed down with water. Then 4 days, wormwood is taken every 5 hours. If individual intolerance (allergy) occurs, the intake is stopped.
Cleansing the intestines with celandine
Cleansing the intestines with celandine is a herbal method of cleansing the intestines, but celandine, like wormwood, is a poisonous plant. All parts of the plant are used, but only fresh. Celandine helps with polyposis of the stomach and intestines, with atony (without diverticula and obstruction), as a powerful bactericidal agent. To cleanse the intestines, celandine is collected in ecologically clean areas, used internally or made into enemas. When cleansing with celandine, severe allergic reactions are possible. Undiluted celandine products are used exclusively externally.
[ 5 ]
How to cleanse the intestines with celandine?
It all starts with a preparatory diet (a gentle diet is followed for several days before the cleansing), then celandine juice diluted with water (5 drops of juice are dripped into a glass of boiling water, covered and wait until the solution cools, diluted in half with any neutral drink) taken a tablespoon 3 times a day before meals for 5 days. When taking celandine tea, a gentle diet is followed, alcohol and smoking are excluded.
Cleansing the intestines with celandine as a medicinal enema requires preparation in the form of not only a gentle diet, but also cleansing enemas before enemas with celandine. Then 50 grams of celandine herb are ground (kneaded) and poured with 0.5 liters of boiling water. When the solution cools, it is diluted in half with ordinary water and used as an enema. Basically, this type of cleansing is used to combat intestinal polyps, as an antibacterial agent.
How often should you clean?
Celandine, due to its toxicity, can be recommended in exceptional cases, however, given its effect, the duration of administration depends on the achieved result - elimination of polyps, reduction in the rate of tumor growth.
Colon Cleanse with Rice
Rice cleansing can also be recommended as an effective means of cleansing the intestines. Rice contains a significant amount of coarse fiber, which enhances intestinal peristalsis and works as a sponge, a sorbent, absorbing toxins and waste. However, rice also contains a sufficient amount of starch and other substances, which are removed so that the rice grain becomes a sorbent, rice is prepared as follows:
- rice should be soaked for 5 days in cool water (it is better to keep it in the refrigerator);
- water should be changed in the morning and evening;
- After 5 days, the rice should be cooked and stored in the refrigerator.
How to do cleansing?
Rice is used in the following way - boiled soaked rice in the amount of 0.5 kg is divided into 5 portions and eaten 1 portion in the morning on an empty stomach for 5 days. After eating rice, you cannot eat for the next 3-4 hours (the stomach needs 3 to 4 hours to evacuate a portion of rice into the intestines). Simultaneously with the start of eating the first portion of prepared rice, the next 0.5 kg of rice is soaked.
How often should you clean?
Soak and prepare the following portions so that the total time for rice cleansing does not exceed 40 days. The 40-day course should be carried out once a year.
Herbal collection for bowel cleansing
Human health largely depends on digestion and the quality of absorption of nutrients by the intestines. To improve intestinal motility and microflora, it is recommended to arrange fasting days, add bifido- and acetobacter, and drink a herbal collection to cleanse the intestines.
The most commonly used fees are:
- Mix marshmallow root, horsetail and flax seeds in equal proportions, take 1 tablespoon of the mixture, boil with 1 glass of water and boil for 10-15 minutes, leave for an hour and take half of the decoction before bed, the other half in the morning.
In cases where treatment with a specific pronounced effect is required, a collection of herbs for bowel cleansing is selected by a nutritionist or herbalist.
When using any method of bowel cleansing, it should be remembered that cleansing with poisonous, slightly poisonous and conditionally poisonous plants is strictly contraindicated for pregnant women and children. Any course of cleansing should be started with a consultation with a general practitioner (therapist, family doctor). If it is necessary to systematically (constantly) take any medications, you should take into account their interaction with the chosen method of bowel cleansing, as well as the fact that some methods involve sorption (absorption) of various chemicals, including medicinal ones. Herbs for bowel cleansing should be selected carefully, taking into account the side effects of taking them.
