Indications Hemosol

It is used to remove calluses and corns in the skin area of the feet.

It is released in the form of an ointment, in a box with a capacity of 10 g. The package contains 1 such box.

Pharmacodynamics

The medicine has keratoplastic, disinfectant and keratolytic properties, and at the same time helps to exfoliate the stratum corneum of the skin.

Among the additional elements of the medicine is a sweet clover patch, which contains coumarin, which has an anti-inflammatory and softening effect.

Pharmacokinetics

Tests regarding the pharmacokinetic parameters of the ointment have not been conducted.

Since the drug is applied to the keratinized areas of the skin surface with a small area, the absorption of salicylic acid through the skin into the circulatory system is extremely low.

Dosing and administration

Before the procedure, you need to steam your feet and then wipe them dry. Next, you need to treat the callus with a thin layer of the preparation and seal this area with a plaster. The procedure must be repeated in the morning and evening for 3-4 days. After this, you need to steam your feet again and carefully remove the callus. It should be remembered that tearing it off or cutting it out is prohibited. If necessary, you can repeat the treatment course. It is recommended to slightly warm the ointment before use (maximum up to 40 ° C).

Use Hemosol during pregnancy

There is no information about the negative impact of Hemozol on the fetus (because no relevant tests have been conducted previously).

During lactation or pregnancy, the drug may be used only on limited areas of the body, for a short period of time, and only with the permission of the attending physician.

When breastfeeding, it is prohibited to treat the mammary gland area with the ointment.

Among the contraindications:

  • inflammation in the area of the skin surface in an acute form.

Side effects Hemosol

The use of the ointment may lead to the development of intolerance symptoms, including burning and itching, dryness with irritation and peeling, the appearance of urticaria, rashes and contact dermatitis.

Overdose

There are almost no signs of intoxication after topical application. In case of intentional or accidental oral administration of the ointment, signs of salicylate intoxication are observed (the general effect of salicylic acid is the occurrence of salicylism), pain in the stomach with the esophagus and heartburn appear, as well as repeated vomiting (sometimes with blood), and, at times, loose stools with blood. Along with this, a feeling of euphoria and excitement is observed. Ear noise, dizziness, visual disturbances and hearing impairment occur. Breathing becomes more frequent and noisy.

To treat the disorder, it is necessary to perform gastric lavage (using a tube for this), a forced diuresis procedure, and also prescribe the victim to take a large volume of alkaline liquid.

Interactions with other drugs

Salicylic acid can increase the skin permeability of other medications with a local mode of action, resulting in their absorption also increasing.

The absorbed active element of the drug potentiates the negative effects of methotrexate, as well as orally administered hypoglycemic drugs and sulfonylurea derivatives.

It is prohibited to combine with other drugs that contain salicylic acid, as well as its derivatives (salicylates).

Hemozol must be kept in a place inaccessible to children. Temperature indicators - maximum 25°C.

Hemozol can be used for 3 years from the date of release of the drug.
