Gaviscon mint suspension is a drug for the treatment of gastric ulcer and reflux esophagitis.

Indications Gaviscon mint suspension

Gaviscon mint suspension is indicated for the following diseases of the esophagus and stomach and the following conditions: gastric ulcer, reflux esophagitis, condition after stomach surgery, belching and heartburn during pregnancy, discomfort as a result of dyspepsia caused by poor nutrition, intake of heavy food.

Release form

Gaviscon mint suspension is available as a viscous suspension for oral administration, with mint flavor.

Pharmacodynamics

Gaviscon mint suspension interacts with the acidic environment of the stomach and protects the mucous membrane of the esophagus and stomach.

Pharmacokinetics

The drug is not absorbed into the blood, but acts locally.

Dosing and administration

Gaviscon mint suspension is taken orally 10-20 ml after meals.

Use Gaviscon mint suspension during pregnancy

Gaviscon mint suspension is indicated for pregnant and nursing mothers to effectively combat heartburn. Special clinical studies have been conducted - the drug does not have a harmful effect on the fetus during pregnancy and on the infant.

Contraindications

The drug is not used to treat children under 7 years of age. After 7 years to 12 years - only if the possible benefit exceeds the risk, as prescribed by a doctor. Individual sensitivity reactions, allergies to the components of the drug are possible.
