Gabagamma 100 is prescribed for patients (children over 12 years and adults) who have epilepsy with parasitic cramps in complex therapy. Release form

The preparation of Gabagamma 100 is available in cardboard large packages. In this box there may be 2, 5 or 10 blisters with capsules covered with gelatin. Capsules are colored in a white opaque color. Inside the capsules is a white powder, which contains 100 mg of active substance - gabapentin.

Pharmacodynamics

The active substance of the drug Gababamma 100 is similar in structure to the neurotransmitter GABA, but the principle of its mechanism of action is fundamentally different from other drugs acting on GABA receptors. Due to the conducted researches it was found out that gabapentin does not have GMACergic properties, and its action consists in binding with calcium subunits, thereby reducing the flow of calcium ions and thus neutralizing neuropathic pain. Also gabapentin increases the amount of GABA, reduces damage and death of neurons, inhibits the release of neurotransmitters of the monoamine group.

Pharmacokinetics

The maximum concentration of the drug Gababamma 100 in blood plasma is observed after 2-3 hours. Overdose

When an overdose of Gababamma 100 occurs symptoms of dizziness, bifurcation of visible objects, drowsiness, fainting, liturgical sleep. Also, severe diarrhea can occur. In cases of overdose, an urgent gastric lavage, intake of absorbent drugs (activated carbon, smectas) and symptomatic therapy are performed. Interactions with other drugs

With the simultaneous use of the drug Gababamma 100 with morphine, an increase in the concentration of gabopentin by 44% was detected.

The interaction of the drug Gababamma 100 with other antiepileptic drugs has not been determined, which allows it to be taken in conjunction with other medications.

With the use of the drug Gababammma 100 with hormonal oral contraceptives containing ethinyl estradiol and norethindrone, no change in the pharmacokinetics of either the one or the second class of drugs has been observed.

When using the drug Gababammma 100 with drugs of the antacid group, there was a decrease in absorption of gabapentin by 20%.
