Pharmacodynamics

The active substance fipronil, which contains Bars sprays, Frontline, Super barrier, Fiprex and Fiprist, is a phenylpyrazole insecticide paralyzing the neuromuscular insect system. Fipronil acts on the complementary receptors of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) of ectoparasites and blocks them, which leads to the depolarization of nerve cells. As a result, the transmission of nerve signals through the channels of Cl ions of presynaptic membranes is disrupted, and general insect paralysis occurs.

In addition to fipronil, Bars spray contains a benzamide insecticide diflubenzuron, which is a chlorine-containing derivative of benzenephenylurea and acts by blocking the synthesis of chitin necessary to form the cuticle of insects during the transition of their larvae to the next stages. As a result, the cycle of insect development stops and they die.

Bolfo Spray is the insecticide of the propoxur carbamate class, whose action on fleas and other insects is similar to the action of acetylcholine, but with an overabundance of this neurohormone, its hydrolysis and inhibition of cholinergic reactions and blockade of nerve impulses in synapses occur. After a single application of Balfo, its insecticidal effect persists for a maximum of two weeks.

Pharmacological action Hartz spray UltraGuard provides tetrachlorvinphos - a derivative of trichlorophenyl phosphate, that is, an insecticide, close to all known chlorophos. This substance also paralyzes the nervous system of insects, inhibiting the enzyme cholinesterase. And in the Hartz UltraGuard Plus spray there is S-methoprene - a synthetic analogue of the juvenile hormone of insects (supporting the insect metamorphosis at all stages of their life cycle), which repeatedly exceeds its activity. Under the influence of increased doses of an analogue of this hormone, the process of changing ontogenetic stages is violated, and the life cycle of a flea or tick is irretrievably interrupted.

The mechanism of the insecticidal action of the spray against fleas and mites The Rolf Club is associated with the already mentioned fipronil, as well as pyriproxyphene, which is a juvenoid and acts similarly to S-methoprene.

Active substance spray from fleas and mites for dogs Burdi is an insecticide-pyrethroid of the second generation permethrin (a derivative of dimethyl cyclopropanecarboxylic acid). Penetrating into the body of an insect, pyrethroids as well as the above-mentioned active substances of insecticaricidal drugs block acetylcholine receptors, inhibit the activity of cholinesterase and disrupt the process of generation and propagation of impulses along nerve fibers. Pharmacokinetics

In the instructions for spraying from fleas, manufacturers note the lack of systemic effects of these drugs on animals during their treatment against insect parasites. That is, they do not penetrate into the bloodstream.

Insecticidal substances fall only on the skin and wool, although adsorption into the skin, hair follicles and partially into the sebaceous hypodermic glands takes place. What, in fact, is the duration of the protective action of the drugs (within 30-40 days).

Dosing and administration

The instructions to these drugs indicate that the treatment of the animal should be carried out either outdoors or in a room that is well ventilated (you need to open the window, or better the entire window). To protect yourself from getting the drug on the person doing the treatment of the animal, you should wear a respirator, goggles and rubber gloves. And that the animal does not lick the applied preparation, until it dries completely on the dog, it is necessary to put on a muzzle, and on dogs of small breeds and cats - a cervical collar-limiter.

The bottle or bottle should be shaken several times and kept in a vertical position during use, pressing the spray head. Spray is applied throughout the body against the growth of the coat; muzzle and ears are treated with a tampon moistened with the drug.

Overdose

Overdosage Bars can cause hypersalivation, tremor, and vomiting in an animal. Symptoms of exceeding the dose of Belfo: salivation and narrowed pupils, as well as vomiting and / or diarrhea.
