Treatment of varicose veins involves not only taking medications and performing various surgeries, but also performing a special set of exercises. Physical exercises for varicose veins can prevent further progression of the disease. Swimming is very useful, especially for those with an uncomplicated form of the disease. It is good to use warm foot baths, with a water temperature of 30 - 35 degrees (not higher).

Here are some of them:

  • sitting on the mat, raise and lower your toes. Do not lift your heels off the floor;
  • perform movements with your feet in different directions;
  • bring your legs together and “roll” from toe to heel (can be done while standing);
  • standing, stand on tiptoe, trying to reach the ceiling, then lower yourself onto your feet;
  • lying on your back, with your knees bent, make rotational movements to the right and left;
  • straight legs should be placed on a chair, then straightened and then bent again feet. Do this first one by one, then with both legs together;
  • "bike";
  • In the "birch" position, perform leg swings.

Aqua aerobics and swimming are also very useful for varicose veins. Fitness classes are not recommended for all patients, so a doctor's consultation is necessary. When doing yoga, you should refrain from the "lotus", "tree" and "diamond" poses.

Exercise for Varicose Veins

Active movements during the day are the key to successfully combating varicose veins. Everyone has known since childhood that sport strengthens the body, improves mood and activates the blood circulation process. However, not everyone wants or can adhere to this truth.

Doing sports is good in itself, but it is even more useful if you combine sports and fresh air. In order to do exercises in the fresh air, you do not necessarily have to go to the forest or to the nearest park, it is enough to just go out onto the balcony, do exercises in front of an open window, finally.

In winter, the swimming pool and gym are great for sports. In summer, spend more time outdoors, swim in safe open water. Swimming in sea water is great for treating varicose veins.

It may seem strange, but for patients suffering from varicose veins, it is very useful to go roller skating. However, this method is only suitable for those whose disease has just begun to manifest itself. Regular roller skating teaches the legs to walk more relaxed in everyday life, and this, in turn, leads to a decrease in spasms in the vessels of the lower extremities.

Those who spend most of their working day on their feet should do a warm-up for their legs periodically, preferably every hour. To do this, you just need to squat a couple of times and roll from heel to toe.

Dancing is another way to combat varicose veins. Dancing is a great way to train your leg muscles, helps in the fight against excess weight, and all this cannot but have a positive effect on the overall well-being of all blood vessels.
