Evadir 2 is a female sex hormone drug.

Evadir 2 is an emergency contraceptive, which, however, cannot be used permanently, and it will not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases.

Indications Evadir 2

Evadir 2 is used for emergency contraception within 72 hours after sexual intercourse.

Pharmacodynamics

Evadir 2 causes changes in the endometrium that prevent the fertilized egg from attaching to the uterine wall. If attachment of the fertilized egg has begun, the drug will be ineffective.

Pharmacokinetics

Levonorgestrel is rapidly absorbed after administration. Bioavailability is 100%. Maximum serum concentration reaches 14.1 ± 7.7 ng/mg after 1.6 ± 0.7 hours. Studies on the effect of food intake on the action of Evadir 2 have not been conducted.

Evadir 2 is excreted in equal proportions in urine and feces. The biotransformation of levonorgestrel is similar to the biotransformation of steroids. The half-life is about 24 hours.

Evadir 2 is not intended for use in individuals over 60 years of age and in children. The effect of renal and hepatic impairment on the absorption of the drug has not been studied.

Dosing and administration

The first pill should be taken no later than 72 hours after the "unsafe" sexual intercourse, and the second - 12 hours after the first. A condom should be used until the next menstruation.

Use Evadir 2 during pregnancy

Since Evadir 2 is a contraceptive, it is not used during pregnancy. Evadir 2 does not interrupt an existing pregnancy. Studies have shown the relative safety of progestogens for the fetus. If the delay in menstruation exceeds 5 days, pregnancy should be ruled out, but most women have their period on time after taking the drug.

Contraindications

Evadir 2 is not taken in case of acyclic vaginal bleeding of unknown etiology, during pregnancy or if there is a suspicion that you are pregnant, in case of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, in case of malignant tumors or suspicion of malignant tumors, in case of liver diseases.

Side effects Evadir 2

Evadir 2 can cause nausea, delayed menstruation, headache, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and dyspeptic symptoms.

Overdose

Overdose of Evadir 2 may cause nausea and bleeding. Treatment is symptomatic.

Interactions with other drugs

The effectiveness of Evadir 2 may be reduced by concomitant use of barbiturates, rifampicin and drugs containing St. John's wort. The drug may increase the toxicity of cyclosporine.

Storage conditions

At room temperature. Evadir 2 should be kept out of reach of children.

Shelf life is 3 years.
