Enterosgel is a gel-type enterosorbent. Possesses adsorbing and detoxifying activity.

The medicament is a spatially formed matrix of organosilicon type, which creates pores filled with liquid. The established pore sizes help to form the sorption selectivity. The drug sorbs and excretes from the body mainly toxic elements of the medium molecular type.

Enterosgel has a hydrophobic effect, it does not adhere to mucous membranes, does not damage them, and also does not penetrate into tissues.

Indications Enterosgel

It is used as a detoxifying agent in such cases:

  • active and chronic forms of poisoning of a different nature;
  • active forms of intoxication with poisonous and potent elements (this includes alkaloids, alcohol, medicines, heavy metal salts);
  • hyperazotemia (CRF);
  • acute stages of intestinal infections of any origin, in combination treatment (for example, dysentery , toxic infections, dysbiosis, , salmonellosis and diarrhea, which has a non-infectious etiology);
  • pathologies of the purulent-septic type, against the background of which severe poisoning is noted (in combination therapy);
  • allergy to medicines or food;
  • hyperbilirubinemia (viral form of hepatitis).

It is also prescribed to prevent chronic poisoning in people working at hazardous enterprises (professional poisoning with xenobiotics, arsenic, lead, mercury compounds, incorporated radionuclides, polytropic synthetic agents, and in addition carbon or nitrogen oxides, oil products, heavy metal salts and organic solvents fluorides).

Release form

The drug is released in the form of an oral paste, inside a package with a volume of 100 or 225 g.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug demonstrates a pronounced detoxification and sorption effect. Inside the lumen of the gastrointestinal tract, it synthesizes and excretes external and internal toxic elements of various origins (among them antigens, medicines and poisons, alcohol, bacteria and bacterial toxins, heavy metal salts, food allergens).

Enterosgel adsorbs individual metabolites of the body, including excess bilirubin, cholesterol, lipid and urea complexes, and in addition, decay products responsible for the development of internal toxicosis.

The medicine does not weaken the absorption of trace elements with vitamins, helps to restore the disturbed intestinal microflora and does not alter the intestinal motility.

Pharmacokinetics

The drug is not absorbed inside the gastrointestinal tract. Excretion of the unchanged substance occurs within a period of 12 hours.

Dosing and administration

You need to take the medicine orally, 1-2 hours before eating or using other medicines, drinking water (you can also dilute a portion of the paste in 0.5 cups of water).

For infants, 2.5 g (0.5 teaspoon) are prescribed, which are stirred with breast milk or water (3 volume). You need to give the medicine before each feeding procedure (6 times a day).

To prevent chronic poisoning, you need to take 22.5 g (1.5 tablespoons), 2 times a day, in a period of 7-10 days, every month.

In case of acute diarrhea: for an adult, the starting portion is 45 g (3 tablespoons), for a child over 5 years old - 22.5 g (1.5 tablespoons). Then use 1.5 tablespoons after each bowel movement, if the stool is liquid. For a child under 5 years old - first, 15 g (1 tablespoon), and then 7.5 g (1.5 teaspoons) after each bowel movement, if the stool is liquid.

When the diarrhea stops, you need to take the medicine in standard doses for another 5 days.

If severe poisoning is observed, the dosage can be doubled during the first 3 days.

The duration of therapy for acute intoxication is 3-5 days; in case of allergies or chronic poisoning - 2-3 weeks. A repeated cycle can be prescribed by a doctor.
