Enterospazmil is a complex medicine that belongs to a group of substances that affect the digestive function and the work of the digestive tract; used to treat digestive activity.

The medication contains phloroglucinol dihydrate (non-atropin-type antispasmodic), as well as simethicone. The drug prevents the accumulation of gases inside the intestines, eliminates stomach cramps (also with bloating) and reduces the rate of peristalsis.[1]

Indications Enterospasmil

It is used in combination therapy during disorders of the digestive function. It is used for smooth muscle spasms, which can also be accompanied by pains of varying severity and bloating of a different nature:

  • flatulence associated with dyspepsia, lesions of the gastrointestinal tract and aerophagia;
  • Botkin's syndrome, the period after surgery, pyloric or cardiospasm and gastritis;
  • colitis, cholecystitis , enteritis, cholangitis, diarrhea, IBS, papillitis, cholecystolithiasis and pericholecystitis.

It is also prescribed for lesions of the urethra and gynecological diseases, against which smooth muscle spasms and flatulence are noted. It can be used during preparation for ultrasound and X-ray procedures.

Release form

The release of the therapeutic agent is realized in the form of capsules, 15 or 30 pieces each inside the box.

Pharmacodynamics

Simethicone is an organosilicon-type substance belonging to the group of polydimethylsiloxanes. It has a defoaming effect. Simethicone has no toxic properties, affects the surface tension of gas bubbles that form inside the gastrointestinal tract, destroying them. The gases released during this are released naturally with the intestinal contents through its peristalsis. Some of these gases are also absorbed into the walls of the small intestine.

In gastritis, simethicone exhibits an analgesic effect. Helps stabilize gastric function by improving well-being and digestive processes.[2]

Clinical testing has confirmed a relaxing effect on gastrointestinal smooth muscle. Phloroglucinol dihydrate reduces the rate of excess motor activity in the colon and colon, which typically occurs as a reaction to food intake in people with bowel disorders.[3]

Pharmacokinetics

When taken orally, phloroglucinol is absorbed at a high rate and participates in metabolic processes during the 1st intrahepatic passage. Excretion is carried out in the form of metabolic elements, mainly in the urine. The period of reaching the plasma Cmax is 60 minutes. With a Cmax of 2.74 mg / ml, the half-life is 2 hours. The overall level of oral bioavailability is 30%.

Simethicone is not absorbed inside the body; after passing through the gastrointestinal tract, it is excreted unchanged.

Dosing and administration

The medication is taken with food or after it, when pain occurs.

For children aged 6-12 years, the serving size is 1 capsule, with 3 times per day. For adolescents from 12 years old and adults - you need to take 2 capsules of drugs 3 times a day.
