Gastrointestinal tract disorders are accompanied by a complex of various painful symptoms. Let's consider popular folk remedies for vomiting and diarrhea, allowing you to restore health in a short period of time.

Juices for diarrhea

In case of intestinal disorder, doctors do not recommend drinking juices, especially freshly squeezed ones. This is due to the high content of fruit acids in the drink, which increases irritation of the gastrointestinal mucosa. But there are also useful juices for diarrhea.

  1. Pomegranate - reduces symptoms of diarrhea, speeds up recovery. Contains many nutrients and minerals. High concentration of pectin destroys bacterial microflora in the intestine. Tannins, which are part of the peel, have a binding effect and normalize stool. To prepare the juice, grind a couple of ripe pomegranate fruits. Strain the resulting liquid through cheesecloth. Drink the drink in small portions throughout the day.
  2. Rosehip juice – pour 200 g of fresh fruits of the plant with 2 liters of boiling water. Put the heat-resistant container with the drink in a well-heated oven overnight. Strain and take ¼ cup every 2 hours during the day. From the resulting juice you can make microclysters if diarrhea occurs with severe pain.
  3. Blueberry juice – has anti-inflammatory, choleretic, astringent and antibacterial properties. Take 500 g of berries and crush them. Strain through a sieve and add 300 ml of boiled water at room temperature to the juice. Mix well and take ½ glass 3-4 times a day.

Store-bought packaged juices contain a huge amount of sugar, dyes and preservatives, so they are not only unsuitable for treating intestinal disorders and diarrhea, but are also dangerous.

Compotes for diarrhea

Decoctions of dried fruits have good antidiarrheal properties. Compotes for diarrhea can be used for children and pregnant women, as they have a minimum of contraindications and are harmless to the body.

Useful properties of dried fruit compotes in the treatment of intestinal disorders:

  • High concentration of nutrients, compared to fresh fruits.
  • Replenishes the deficiency of vitamins, minerals and amino acids in the body.
  • Normalizes digestion processes.
  • Promotes the removal of harmful substances from the body.

One of the simplest, but at the same time effective remedies is a decoction based on raisins. To prepare the drink, ½ cup of raisins should be thoroughly washed and poured with 500 ml of water. Boil over low heat for 10 minutes, then bring to a boil and let it brew. This compote helps cleanse the intestines of pathogenic microorganisms and prevents dehydration in severe diarrhea.

A dried apricot compote is no less useful. Dried apricot is rich in potassium, vitamins and minerals. Soluble fiber and pectin regulate the gastrointestinal tract, remove toxins and other harmful substances from the body, and help normalize watery stools. To prepare the drink, take 200 g of dried apricots, wash them and cut them into small pieces. Place the dried fruits in warm water for 2-3 hours, then boil. Strain the compote before use.

Medicinal decoctions can be prepared on the basis of pear, rose hips, a mixture of dried apricots and raisins. In the already cooled compote to improve its taste characteristics, it is allowed to add a spoonful of natural honey. Despite the natural composition, compotes are not recommended for patients with diseases of the stomach and pancreas in the acute stage.

Kissel for diarrhea

A tasty remedy suitable for children and adults is jelly for intestinal disorders. The benefits of the drink are in its composition: amino acids, vitamins, minerals, binding substances. The most useful is jelly made from oatmeal, pear or blueberry. It is prepared on the basis of starch with various fruit or vegetable additives. This combination normalizes digestive functions, restores stool.

In case of diarrhea, it is recommended to consume jelly with products that have fixing properties. Let's consider the most useful recipes:

  1. Blueberry – boil two liters of water and add 300 g of blueberries and 200 g of sugar to the liquid. Boil everything on low heat for 20-30 minutes. Add four tablespoons of starch, stirring constantly. Boil the mixture for 5-7 minutes, remove from the stove and cool.
  2. Rice – rinse 50 g of round rice and soak in 500 ml of very cold water overnight. Add another liter of water and simmer over low heat for an hour, stirring constantly. Once the rice is cooked, add 50 g of sugar and a little salt. The jelly should be boiled again and cooled.
  3. Boil two quinces cut into small pieces in a liter of water until done. Rub the cooked fruit through a sieve or chop it with a blender. Add ¼ teaspoon of citric acid and 100 g of sugar to the quince jelly. Boil the drink and add 3 tablespoons of starch in small portions. Bring to a boil again.

Essentuki for diarrhea

A popular mineral water with medicinal properties is Essentuki. Both adults and children can drink it for diarrhea. The mineral water is a sodium, chloride-hydrocarbonate and hydrochloric-alkaline liquid of medium mineralization.

Essentuki has a wide range of applications, so it is used not only for intestinal disorders, but also in such cases:

  • Ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
  • Gastritis.
  • Hepatitis
  • Diseases of the liver and biliary tract.
  • Metabolic disorders.
  • Pancreatitis.
  • Pathologies of the urinary tract.

Mineral water liquefies and removes mucus that forms during inflammatory processes in the gastrointestinal tract and genitourinary system, respiratory tract. The alkalizing effect of the liquid normalizes the motor and secretory functions of the digestive system.

Essentuki is most valued for the following active components:

  • Sodium – takes part in the synthesis of water-salt metabolism, affects metabolic processes at the cellular level.
  • Calcium – reduces the permeability of cell membranes, has an anti-inflammatory effect.
  • Magnesium – regulates neuromuscular excitability, improves carbohydrate-protein metabolism and enzymatic reactions.

In order for mineral water to have a therapeutic effect, it must be drunk correctly. In case of diarrhea, it is recommended to use a warm drink, since in this case the liquid reduces the secretory and motor functions of the intestine, which is necessary when it is upset. Cold water helps with constipation, since it enhances the work of the digestive organs.

It is necessary to drink up to 500 ml of water per day, in equal portions throughout the day. To achieve a lasting treatment result, Essentuki is recommended to be consumed for 2-3 days. Long-term use of the liquid threatens side effects. Overdose is manifested by disturbances in ion-exchange processes in the body, due to which severe edema appears throughout the body.
