Dalfase SR refers to alpha 1- adrenoblockers, which are used for dysfunction of urination caused by benign neoplasm in the prostate gland.

Dalfaz SR helps to eliminate symptoms of urinary function disorders (urinary retention, incomplete emptying of the bladder, etc.). On the background of treatment, especially in patients receiving drugs that reduce blood pressure, weakness, dizziness, sweating may develop. In this case, rest is recommended until the discomfort disappears (as a rule, the symptoms disappear on their own after a few days from the beginning of treatment).

Dalfase CP tablets should be swallowed whole, as breaking, chewing, etc., can alter the release and absorption of alfuzosin, which in turn will increase the risk of adverse reactions.

Indications Dalfaz SR

The medication is prescribed when there are signs of a benign neoplasm of the prostate (a weak or intermittent jet with urination, a feeling of incomplete urinary exhaustion, delay or difficulty in starting urination, tension during urination). Also, the drug is used as an auxiliary therapy for acute urinary retention, when a catheter is required.

Release form

Dalfaz SR is available in the form of tablets, which have a round, convex form on both sides.

Pharmacodynamics

Daphase SR has a selective effect. Laboratory studies have shown that the selective action of alfuzosin (an active substance) is directed at certain receptors that are in the prostate gland, the prostatic part of the urethra, in the region of the bottom of the bladder.

The drug acts directly on the smooth muscles of the prostate tissue and reduces stress in the urethra.

Studies have shown that Dalfaz SR improves the patient's condition from the first days of treatment.

Pharmacokinetics

Bioavailability of Dalfaz SR due to long-term action is 104.4%. The drug reaches its highest concentration in the body after 9 hours, and binding to proteins is also observed by 90%.

Most of the alfuzosin is metabolized in the liver. The withdrawal of the bulk of the drug occurs with feces in the form of inactive metabolites, about 11% - with urine in unchanged form.

The half-life of the drug is about 10 hours.

In the elderly, the bioavailability and excretion rates do not change.
If there is a violation of the kidneys after the intake, there is a slight increase in the indices, but this does not require a dosage adjustment (the half-life of the drug in this case does not change).

Pharmacokinetics in heart failure remains unchanged.

Use Dalfaz SR during pregnancy

Pregnant women were not studied for use of Dalfaz SR.

Contraindications

Dalfaz SR is contraindicated in orthostatic hypotension (a strong decrease in blood pressure, which can lead to fainting and decreased blood flow to the brain), severe liver disorders, severe renal failure, intestinal obstruction, and increased susceptibility to alfuzosin or other components of the drug.

Side effects Dalfaz SR

The intake of Dalfase SR can cause headaches, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, stool disorder, dry mouth, drowsiness, weakness, increased heart rate, lower blood pressure, skin rash and itching (rarely), fainting, swelling, redness skin integument.

Overdose

Medication with increased dosage leads to a decrease in blood pressure. In this case, the patient needs inpatient treatment. The extrarenal cleansing of the blood is ineffective, since the active substance binds to proteins as much as possible.

Interactions with other drugs

Daltase SR is not recommended for taking with prazosin, urapidil, menoxidil (α 1 -adrenoceptor blockers ).

With caution, it is necessary to take the drug with drugs that lower blood pressure, as well as with ketoconazole ritonavir, itraconazole and other inhibitors of the CYP3A4 system.
