Cyclomed has a cholinolytic and mydriatic effect. The drug is an m-cholinergic blocker, it blocks the activity of m-cholinergic receptors.

The use of the drug leads to an increase in the size of the pupil of the eye - this occurs due to the contraction of the pupil dilating muscle, and in addition to this, with the relaxation of the antagonist muscle. Along with this, the ciliary muscle also relaxes, which provokes the development of accommodative paresis. [ 1 ]

The therapeutic substance is released in the form of 1% eye drops - inside dropper bottles with a volume of 5 ml. There is 1 such bottle inside the box.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug has a weak antispasmodic effect, and in addition, it increases the IOP and reduces the tone of the vagus nerve, resulting in an increase in the heart rate (the pressure increases slightly). In addition, a deterioration in the excretory function of the salivary, gastric and bronchial glands, as well as the pancreas, may be noted.

Cyclomed overcomes the blood-brain barrier, when used in standard doses it stimulates brain activity, and also has a stimulating effect on the respiratory center.

Dosing and administration

The drops are intended for local use - they need to be instilled into the eyes, 1-2 drops in the area behind the eyelid.

To diagnose lesions in the fundus area, you need to instill 1-3 drops of the medicine - 1 drop at 10-minute intervals.

To perform a refractory study in a child, it is necessary to instill 2 drops of the substance at 15-17 minute intervals, no more than 3 times per day.
