Binafin has antimycotic activity.
The active drug element, terbinafine, shows a large range of influence on dermatophytes, which lead to the appearance of diseases of the epidermis, hair and nails, as well as on candida fungi.
The fungicidal effect against dermatophytes and mold fungi develops even with low values of drugs. The type of influence exerted on yeast-like fungi (fungistatic or fungicidal) is determined by the genus of the fungus present.

Indications Binafina
The cream is used for candidiasis (provoked by the fungus Candida), ringworm and pityriasis.
Tablets are prescribed in the case of mycosis, affecting the hairy area on the head, onychomycosis, and candidiasis (in situations where the prevalence or intensity of the process requires the use of tablets). This dosage form is not effective for pityriasis.
Release form
The element is produced in tablets with a volume of 0.125 and 0.25 g, as well as in the form of a 1% cream inside tubes with a capacity of 10, 15 or 30 g.
Pharmacodynamics
Terbinafine acts by slowing the activity of the enzyme squalene epoxidase inside the fungal wall, as a result of which squalene accumulates inside the cell, causing its death.
When taken orally inside the epidermis, hair and nails, fungicidal drug indicators are formed.
Pharmacokinetics
With a single dose of 0.25 g, the required blood levels of drugs are noted after 2 hours.
It has a high protein binding (99%). Passes inside the dermis, concentrating inside the stratum corneum, as well as nail plates. By the 2nd day of reception, the indicators inside the stratum corneum increase tenfold, and after 12 days - 70 times. It gets inside the sebaceous glands, forms high rates inside the hair and their follicles. Stable drug values inside tissues are recorded after 10 days.
The term half-life equals 24-150 days, which is why the medicine is stored for a long time inside the nails and epidermis after it is canceled.
The metabolic processes are carried out with the help of the hemoprotein P450. With biotransformation, metabolic elements are formed that do not have an antimycotic effect. Excretion occurs with urine. No data on the accumulation of the drug substance.
After local processing, only 5% of the portion is absorbed, which is why the systemic effect of the cream is extremely low.
Dosing and administration
Use cream.
The drug is applied 1-2 times a day, in a thin layer. The cream needs to be rubbed a little, capturing at the same time the areas adjacent to the affected area.
In case of ringworm, affecting the feet, trunk or tibia, therapy is carried out for 7 days.
In case of pityriasis or epidermal candidiasis, treatment lasts 14 days.
When infections are accompanied by diaper rash (between the buttocks, in the groin area, the gaps between the fingers or under the breasts), after treatment with the drug, these areas are covered with a gauze napkin.
When conducting insufficient or irregular therapy there is a risk of recurrence of infection.
The use of tablets medication.
An adult should consume 0.25 g of the substance 1 time per day.
In the case of ringworm in the area of the feet, the therapy lasts 0.5-1.5 months, and during infection of the legs or torso, 3-4 weeks.
During mycosis, affecting the hairy area on the head, the treatment lasts 1 month.
In the case of epidermal candidiasis, the treatment course lasts up to 1 month.
With onychomycosis affecting the hand, the cycle is 1-1.5 months, and for onychomycosis, the stop is 3 months.
If the rate of nail growth is reduced, the therapy may be longer - until a healthy nail grows.
In the case of a disorder of the renal activity, the patient is prescribed half the usual dose of binafine. If during the course of treatment, disorders of the liver develop, therapy is stopped.
Use Binafina during pregnancy
Do not use Binafin during pregnancy.
If you need to use drugs during lactation, you should stop breastfeeding.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated for use in case of strong personal sensitivity regarding medication.
Caution is required when used in people with hepatic disease.
Side effects Binafina
Among the most common side effects that develop, are nausea, diarrhea, a feeling of overcrowding in the stomach, dyspepsia, loss of appetite, taste disorders and pain in the abdomen. In addition, there is urticaria, myalgia, arthralgia and rash.
Occasionally, liver failure or cholestasis, TEN or SSD, as well as hematological disorders (thrombocyte or neutropenia and agranulocytosis) are noted.
After local application of the cream, itching, redness or burning may occur, but they only occasionally require discontinuation of therapy. If urticaria develops, therapy is stopped.
Overdose
In case of poisoning with pills, dizziness, pain in the epigastric region, nausea and headaches appear.
Performed gastric lavage and reception of enterosorbents. In addition, symptomatic therapeutic measures are carried out.

Interactions with other drugs
Terbinafine weakly inhibits or potentiates the clearance of many drugs, whose metabolic processes are carried out with the help of hemoprotein P450. Among such drugs tolbutamide, cyclosporine, triazolam with terfenadine, and oral contraception.
In addition, the drug inhibits CYP2D6 metabolic processes that need to be considered when using drugs that are metabolized with the participation of this enzyme: MAOI, antidepressants, SSRI and β-adrenergic blockers.
The rate of terbinafine clearance increases with the introduction of agents that potentiate the metabolism of hemoprotein P450 (rifampicin), and also slows down when using substances that inhibit it (such as cimetidine).
With such combinations, you need to adjust the size of portions of Binafina.
Storage conditions
Binafin must be maintained at temperature values of a maximum of 25 ° C.
Shelf life
Binafin can be used within a 36-month term from the time the drug was manufactured.
Application for children
Prescription pills in pediatrics can only patients older than 2 years. The cream can be used from 12 years of age.

Analogues of the medication are drugs Atifin, Termikon, Lamisil with Terbizilom, and in addition Terbinafin and Exifin.
