A full-fledged alternative to mustard plasters for coughs are cupping glasses. If the former help in the fight against dry coughs, then cupping glasses are effective for expectorating phlegm. The main indications for their use are:

  • Congestive processes in the lungs without elevated body temperature.
  • Inflammation of the pleura, bronchi, lungs (in the absence of pus).
  • Treatment of colds.
  • Stimulation of local immunity.

Cupping has a relaxing and analgesic effect. They also have a distracting effect. In the places where they are located, blood cell products accumulate, which provoke irritation of the body, activate the flow of leukocytes and lymphocytes to the affected areas. Cupping creates a vacuum, which in addition to the anti-inflammatory effect improves the condition of the muscles, increases their tone and elasticity.

In case of respiratory diseases, the medical device is placed on the back and chest, without affecting the spinal vessels, heart area, and mammary glands in women.

Algorithm for installing cans for cough treatment:

  • The patient is placed on his back or stomach and a thin layer of greasy cream is applied to the skin.
  • A little cotton wool is wound around the tweezers to visually create a wick, it is moistened in alcohol and set on fire.
  • The flame is placed in the jar for a couple of seconds and, holding it with the opening down, it is placed on the skin. The tissue inside the container forms a bump and turns red.
  • After all the jars are installed, the patient is covered with a towel.
  • The procedure is carried out for 5-15 minutes, monitoring the patient's condition to prevent the appearance of hematomas.
  • To remove the jar, tilt it slightly to the side and press on the skin at the base of the vessel.
  • After the procedure, wipe the skin with a damp warm towel and wrap yourself in a warm blanket for 1-2 hours.

The treatment procedure can be performed on patients over 3 years old, but special small vessels must be used for this. The following contraindications should also be taken into account:

  • Elevated body temperature.
  • Acute inflammatory process.
  • Pulmonary tuberculosis.
  • Tumor formations of benign/malignant origin.
  • Internal bleeding.
  • Inflammation and/or damage to the skin.
  • A large number of pigmented spots, moles, warts, scars, and marks in the places where the cups are attached.
  • Pregnancy and lactation.
  • Arterial hypertension stage 2.3.
  • Arrhythmia.
  • Implanted pacemaker.
  • Hypersensitive skin.
  • Blood clotting disorder.

Mustard plasters for cough, like cans, have their own medicinal advantages and contraindications for use. In order for the therapy to be as effective and safe as possible, you should obtain permission from your doctor before carrying it out.
