Anorchism is a congenital absence of both testicles, caused by their bilateral agenesis. It is usually combined with bilateral agenesis or aplasia of the kidneys, but can exist as an independent anomaly.

With bilateral renal aplasia, children are not viable.

Symptoms anorchism

In extremely rare cases of anorchism as an independent anomaly, pronounced eunuchoidism, underdevelopment of the external genitalia, absence of the prostate gland and seminal vesicles are detected. Secondary sexual characteristics do not develop.

In diagnosing this condition, along with examination and physical examination methods, ultrasonography and diagnostic laparoscopy are of great importance, which reveal signs of testicular agenesis on both sides.
