Sequence analysis of CT images

For computed tomography of the neck there is not only one correct technique, but several systems for the interpretation of tomograms. The recommendations presented here were developed on the basis of clinical experience and are one of the many choices for beginners. Each specialist in the process of work is free to choose his strategy.

When examining the neck, the sections selected for printing on the printer rarely include images in the bone window. But the radiologist should remember about the obligatory examination of the slices in the bone window, so as not to miss fractures or foci of osteolysis.

Recommendations for computed tomography of the neck

  • Symmetry of the neck muscles?
  • The condition and clarity of the image of fat?
  • Normal blood flow in the vessels?
