Traditional treatment of cervical erosion – the appearance of hyperemia on its mucous membrane, which in modern gynecology is called ectopia of the vaginal portion of the cervix – includes a fairly wide range of natural remedies, as well as some chemicals.
These are bee products, natural compounds with regenerative properties and, of course, medicinal plants.
Treatment of cervical erosion: honey, oil and aloe
Traditional treatment of cervical erosion has long and successfully used honey. The versatile therapeutic effects of natural bee honey do not need additional description. Honey vaginal douching is recommended for at least two weeks - every morning and before bed. To do this, dissolve a tablespoon of honey in 0.5 liters of boiled warm (not higher than +36.6 ° C) water.
It is also necessary to insert suppositories into the vagina, which in addition to honey should contain aloe juice and lard. The technology for preparing such suppositories: melt two tablespoons of lard in a water bath, when it cools down, add two tablespoons of honey and aloe juice. Mix everything thoroughly and form suppositories 3.5 cm long and about a finger thick, pack them in PVC film and put them in the refrigerator (they should also be stored in the refrigerator). You will need 30 of these suppositories - at the rate of two suppositories (morning and evening) per day for a 15-day course of treatment.
Another recipe requires: butter (150 g), honey (5 tablespoons), and instead of aloe juice - 5 ml of propolis alcohol tincture (bee glue). Everything else is the same as in the first recipe, only these suppositories are inserted once a day (in the evening).
The introduction of hygienic tampons with sea buckthorn, rosehip, eucalyptus or fir oil is a fairly effective folk treatment for cervical erosion. This procedure with sea buckthorn oil is done daily, or rather, every evening, and the average duration of treatment is 12-14 days, if necessary, the course of treatment is repeated after 10 days.
Rosehip oil also promotes healing of wounds and various damages of the epidermis, as well as increasing the protective properties of the mucous membranes, so it is recommended to use it for damage to the epithelium of the cervix. A tampon with rosehip oil should be kept for three hours; procedures should be done daily for 8-10 days. The use of antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory eucalyptus oil is similar.
But antibacterial fir oil cannot be used in its pure form: take no more than 6-8 drops per tablespoon of olive or linseed oil, and tampons with it should not be kept longer than 20 minutes. Those with high blood pressure cannot use this oil because of its vasoconstrictive effect.
In the treatment of cervical erosion, mumiyo is also used in folk remedies. It is a natural substance that has the qualities of a biostimulant that increases the body's defenses and accelerates the restoration of any damaged tissue. To prepare a solution for soaking a tampon, simply dissolve 0.2 g (one tablet) of dry mumiyo extract in 100 ml of warm water. The tampon with this substance is inserted at night; to enhance the therapeutic effect, the vagina is first douched with a soda solution (a teaspoon of baking soda per 500 ml of boiled water). Treatment can be carried out in courses of two weeks with a week's break.
Walnut shells are also used for douching, as they contain antiseptic phenolic acids. To prepare this remedy, it is enough to boil the shells until the water turns brown, and then add this decoction to water - 50 ml per 500 ml of water.
Treatment of cervical erosion with herbs
Treatment of cervical erosion with herbs – phytotherapy – is recommended by many gynecologists. First of all, these are decoctions for vaginal douching:
- calendula officinalis decoction: two tablespoons of dried flowers per 700-800 ml of water, boil for 15 minutes, leave for 1.5-2 hours;
- St. John's wort decoction: one tablespoon of dry herb per half a liter of water, boil for 20 minutes, leave for 2 hours;
- infusion of common celandine: three tablespoons of dry mixture per 1.5 liters of boiling water, leave under a lid for 45 minutes;
- infusion of hemlock: one tablespoon per 700 ml of water;
- infusion of one-sided wintergreen (orthilia secunda): one tablespoon per glass of boiling water, leave for 60 minutes.
Herbalists note that the treatment of cervical erosion with herbs, douches, decoctions and infusions lasts quite a long time, but douching the vagina more than once a day is harmful. In addition, before the procedure, decoctions should be diluted with warm water, so that the temperature of the finished solution is at +35-36 ° C.
Infusions and tinctures for internal use
Folk treatment of cervical erosion uses an aqueous infusion of the perennial plant bedstraw (yellow bedstraw), which is an anti-inflammatory antiseptic due to the presence of iridoids - bactericidal monoterpenes. The infusion is prepared at the rate of a dessert spoon of grass per 250 ml of boiling water (brewed with boiling water and infused under a lid for at least 2.5 hours). Herbalists recommend drinking this warm herbal infusion for erosion - a glass per day, in several doses.
Cervical erosion can be treated with a tincture of the medicinal plant wintergreen, which has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. To prepare it, pour 50 g of dry crushed plant into 0.5 l of vodka and leave for two weeks. This tincture is recommended to be taken 30-35 drops (dissolved in 90-100 ml of water) - three times a day before meals. This folk remedy is contraindicated in chronic constipation and thrombophlebitis.
Homeopathy for cervical erosion
Homeopathy for cervical erosion can only be performed by homeopathic doctors, and such drugs are prescribed only on an individual basis.
The most commonly used preparations are Sepia (cuttlefish ink), Thuja (Thuja), China (cinchona bark), Arnica montana (Arnica), Ignatia amara (Ignatia), Glonoinum (Glonoin), Aurum iodatum (gold iodide), Lycopodium clavatum (Lycopodium or club moss), Conium maculatum (hemlock); Apis mellifica (Apis or honey bee), Lachesis mutus (snake venom), etc.
But no matter how hard you try to use folk treatment for cervical erosion on your own, it is unlikely to work. Because only a gynecologist can make the diagnosis. And you should definitely discuss with him the general treatment tactics and which herbal treatment for cervical erosion can be most effective in a particular case.
