Adenocystic carcinoma (cylindroma) of the nasal cavity - epithelial tumors that are localized both in the nasal cavity and in the maxillary sinus. Most often, they arise from the minor salivary glands.

Symptoms of adenoid cystic cancer (cylindromas) of the nasal cavity

The tumor is of a dense consistency, lumpy, gray in color, and in widespread processes affects the walls of the maxillary sinus and nasal cavity, as well as other parts of this area.

Differential diagnostics

It is performed with other malignant tumors of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. The diagnosis is most often established based on histological examination data.

Treatment of adenoid cystic cancer (cylindromas) of the nasal cavity

The traditional view of this tumor as resistant to radiation therapy and drug treatment has been challenged in recent years. New methods of drug therapy in combination with radiation allow us to obtain encouraging results with tumor resorption of more than 50%.

Forecast

More favorable than in cancer and esthesioneuroblastoma. High 3- and 5-year survival rates in subsequent years correlate with those in cancer of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses and amount to no more than 70-75%.
