Acne on the forehead is not so much a painful phenomenon as it is unpleasant and unaesthetic. Before you start fighting them, you need to find out why they appeared in such a visible place. Of course, you can try to mask the pimple, fortunately the cosmetic market today offers a variety of foundations, if your hairstyle allows, you can cover the rash with a long fringe, but all these are temporary measures and self-deception. And it is completely unacceptable and futile to try to squeeze out the pimple yourself, this will not only not help eliminate the skin defect, but can also provoke the spread of acne all over the face.

Causes forehead pimples

The forehead area is part of the notorious T zone, which got its name from the fact that it resembles this letter: if you draw a line from the chin along the nose and finish it with the eyebrow line, you get the conventional letter T. The entire T area is a huge accumulation of sebaceous glands, there are from 500 to 900 of them per square centimeter. These skin areas are called seborrheic in cosmetology, since it is there that the largest amount of sebum is secreted - subcutaneous fat. Those fatty secretions that are not eliminated, not washed out, quickly become covered with an invisible dust deposit, provoking the development of microorganisms. Also, one of the reasons why acne appears on the forehead can be a malfunction of the gastrointestinal tract, poor bile flow and insufficient functioning of the pancreas. In general, rashes on the forehead indicate that the body needs to be cleansed of toxins from the inside, and then deal with external manifestations on the skin. In addition to the listed reasons, acne on the forehead in this area can be provoked by an excessive love of sweets, smoked foods, fatty foods, in a word, these are the causes of digestive and metabolic disorders. Any food intoxication activates the body's protective functions, it tries to remove the products of poisoning, primarily with the help of sweat and sebum. If the skin ducts of the T-zone are clogged, acne appears on the forehead, which indicates that toxins and microorganisms are located in them, inside.

Acne on the forehead can be very small, shallow, if they are large enough, then, as a rule, deep, inflamed. Acne on the forehead of the second type, having a base in the deep layers of the dermis, is more difficult to treat and often leaves behind defects - scars. Shallow, small rashes are eliminated quite quickly by independent actions - twice a day cleansing the skin with an antiseptic lotion, tonic or gel (without alcohol). Despite the fact that you want to degrease and mattify oily skin, frequent washing and cleaning can lead to the opposite result. The skin glands will work more actively, as if compensating for the usual portion of fatty secretions: thus, sebum will be formed more intensively, and, therefore, there will also be more comfortable environment for microbes. Also, the forehead is often covered with comedones, acne, since fat accumulations together with mud deposits form a kind of plug in the ducts.

Causes of acne on the forehead:

  • Heredity, oily skin type;
  • Hormonal disorders, taking hormonal drugs;
  • Violation of bile outflow, gallbladder conductivity;
  • Poor digestion, constipation;
  • Violation of personal hygiene rules;
  • Use of incorrectly selected cosmetics.

Treatment forehead pimples

First of all, create a normal diet, excluding sweets, fatty, spicy foods and any canned or smoked foods.

Drink at least 1.5-2 liters of well-purified water daily, mineral water is fine, but not carbonated;

Ensure timely emptying of the bowels and bladder, eliminate constipation;

Ensure the required amount of vitamins and minerals with the help of multivitamin complexes;

Small rashes should be wiped twice a day with antiseptic solutions. Among pharmaceutical preparations, products containing zinc, which dries the skin, have proven themselves well - Curiosin, Skinoren, which contains azelaic acid, salicylic acid.

Larger, deeper pimples on the forehead can be spot-lubricated with levamikol at night, which will relieve inflammation, counteract bacterial growth and regenerate the skin. In the morning, you can apply a solution of salicylic acid or Panthenol in the form of an emulsion.

Internally, you can take an infusion of a pharmacy collection aimed at improving the functioning of the stomach (stomach collection). The herbal infusion should be prepared according to the instructions indicated on the collection, and taken in a course of at least 21 days.

Externally, you can wipe your face with a decoction of chamomile and sage (take one teaspoon of the dry herb mixture, brew in 500 ml of boiling water, leave for 20-30 minutes).

You must not try to squeeze or injure immature pimples on your forehead, warm them or rub them. This can provoke the spread of germs all over your face, causing a large rash.

In extreme cases, when pimples on the forehead do not go away within 2-3 weeks, you should seek help from a cosmetologist. There are many safe and effective salon procedures that will help get rid of such an unpleasant defect.

Pimples on the forehead are not a threatening symptom of any disease, but they cause discomfort and prevent the "owner" from feeling comfortable. To keep the forehead clean, sometimes it is enough to follow a normal diet and hygiene rules, use well-chosen creams and cosmetics.
