Drinking diet for 7 days

Water has a decisive influence on human health and life. Entire treatises have been written about its role, but even they can hardly do justice to this transparent, odorless, colorless, and tasteless liquid, which makes up every living organism. It is no coincidence that many weight loss and treatment systems are based on water. The 7-day drinking diet is one of them. It is considered a shortened version of the 30-day drinking diet. [ 1 ]
Indications
Like most methods, the diet is used for weight correction. The main indications for its use are excess body weight. The accompanying bonuses that a person who has lost weight can receive after successfully completing a 7-day drinking diet are as follows:
- unloading the gastrointestinal tract, normalizing the functioning of internal organs;
- improving the appearance and condition of the skin;
- reduction in stomach size and appetite;
- giving up unhealthy eating habits;
- willpower training.
A person also receives psychological satisfaction: after all, victory over oneself, the feeling of “duty accomplished” is worth a lot.
But not everything is so rosy. It is not by chance that the diet is classified as extreme. If you overestimate your strength and the body's capabilities, then expect the opposite reaction: deterioration of the digestive organs, which negatively affects the health and mood of the person losing weight. And it can even lead to a critical situation. More about this side of the issue is said below.
General information drinking diet
Drinking diets have the peculiarity that the menu contains only liquid dishes. The essence of the diet: during the entire period, you cannot eat anything solid. The menu consists of liquids: juices, vegetable and herbal decoctions, broths from natural products, fermented milk drinks, cream soups, teas, coffee. A separate line is ordinary water - a standard 1.5 liter bottle.
- Doctors prescribe a drinking diet for 7 days or longer as a treatment program for some diseases. But this is exclusively the prerogative of doctors, and in no way a reason for the patient to self-medicate.
Experts believe that the gastrointestinal tract, not receiving solid food, gets a chance to rest. This circumstance promotes the removal of waste, cleansing from slags and toxins. The digestive organs work in a lighter mode, and accordingly the feeling of lightness in the stomach prevails. The creators of the method claim that food does not form fat deposits.
- The drinking diet is considered an economical way to lose weight for people with great willpower or those who want to develop this willpower.
Along with the loss of kilograms, harmful components are lost, “washed out” by the abundance of water. It also provides the moisture balance necessary for the functioning of all organs of the body.
7 Day Drinking Detox
Why is the liquid food diet a real 7-day drinking detox? Why are liquid meals better for digestion than a traditional diet with a predominance of solid components?
- Liquid food requires less effort from the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, they are able to work less intensively. It is believed that in this state, the body begins to cleanse itself of unnecessary substances accumulated during the period of "normal nutrition".
The second point is that liquid food eliminates the feeling of heaviness, fullness of the stomach, while new fat accumulations do not form. Water in sufficient quantities does not supply calories, but it activates metabolism and starts the mechanism of weight loss.
According to calculations, a 7-day drinking diet allows you to "lose" 5 kg. The figure becomes more graceful due to a decrease in the size of the hips by several centimeters, the body feels cheerful and energetic, self-esteem and the level of positive emotions increase. With such motivation, women with a strong will decide to extend the course for another week. Of course, if the state of health allows and the doctors do not object.
- Cleansing occurs in stages.
During the first ten days, the hollow organs become cleaner; a coating may form on the tongue, which, according to the authors, is a normal phenomenon.
Then the liver and kidneys are intensively cleansed; discomfort in the area of their location is confirmation that everything is going according to plan.
The last decade is about cleansing the body at the cellular level.
- Whether there is any solid evidence for this, no one knows. That is why there is a lot of criticism about anonymous authors who condemn those who want to lose weight at any cost to incredible feats, to unjustifiably risk their own health.
To support the body that is following extreme dietary restrictions, vitamin supplements may be required, as agreed upon with a doctor.
Detailed menu for every day
Any extreme diet, including a 7-day drinking diet, must be carefully thought out. In addition to the standard rules recommended by nutritionists, you can always choose your favorite dishes from the proposed ones, which help you adapt and more easily endure the restrictions.
- Both moments should be aimed at ensuring that the body is maximally cleansed of toxins and actively removes fat deposits.
An approximate or detailed menu for each day should be based on the following principles (by day).
- Broths – meat and lean, vegetable or fish.
- Dairy products.
- Fresh juices and smoothies.
- Kissels, compotes.
- Teas, including herbal, green, with added milk.
- Soups, juices or vegetable broths.
- Quality water, 1.5 liters daily.
Other diet options are also offered, more varied combinations of dishes. It is important that the total caloric content does not exceed 2000 cal.
- The exit period is no less important. If it is not observed, the excess weight returns, and not alone, but together with a package of accompanying problems.
During the exit, you should start each morning with liquid oatmeal, and continue to cook liquid dishes in the evening. Protein products are put off until later. The exit period is equal to the double period of the diet. That is, in our case, it lasts two weeks.
Recipes
When choosing recipes for dishes, you should immediately reject what the diet prohibits. This is all solid, as well as sweet, spicy, fatty food. Instead, introduce a "children's diet": porridge, soups, kissels, broths, drinkable fermented milk products. For soups, use fresh or frozen ingredients.
- One and a half liters of water dulls the appetite and promotes the removal of toxins.
If water does not help, hunger during a 7-day drinking diet is relieved with a glass of kefir or fresh fruit juice. It is reported that on the third or fourth day the feeling of hunger is not felt at all.
There is no need to be too clever with recipes. Liquid oatmeal or other porridge is an ideal breakfast. Any soup is suitable for lunch - from vegetables, rice, potatoes, brought to a homogeneous state with a blender. Another time, prepare very liquid mashed potatoes, reminiscent of soup.
Freshly prepared vegetable and fruit cocktails are also healthy, tasty, rich in vitamins and a kind of dietary dessert. The main thing is not to “improve” the natural taste – with sugar, salt, spices. For dinner, treat yourself to yogurt, kefir or milk.
Between meals, prepare a variety of teas, juices, and drink water periodically. There are disagreements regarding coffee. Some allow it (unsweetened and without milk), while others include it in the list of prohibited drinks. You will probably have to solve the dilemma yourself. While those indifferent to the aroma of coffee can easily do without it, coffee lovers will not be offended by occasionally allowing themselves a portion of the popular drink.
Benefits
Water makes up 75% of body weight in infants to 55% in older adults and is essential for cellular homeostasis and vital functions. In the United States, it is estimated that about 22% of water comes from food, while in European countries, especially in countries such as Greece with its higher consumption of fruits and vegetables, or in South Korea, this figure would be much higher.[ 2 ]
There are several options for a drinking diet: for 30, 14, 7 days. A drinking diet for 7 days is a relatively gentle way to eliminate excess weight, compared to 2-week and monthly options. The desired effect can also be achieved with the help of one-time unloading - from 1 to 5 days per month.
The benefits of the diet are assessed by the following points:
- body shaping;
- reduction of food load, lightness in the stomach;
- cleansing the digestive organs from toxins and poisons;
- cleansing the kidneys and liver (in case of a long-term option);
- improvement of skin condition;
- freshness of the face.
To maintain the effect, it is very important to exit the diet correctly. This is a longer process: it lasts twice as long as the diet itself. Due to the fact that liquids are easier to digest, and the volume of the stomach decreases slightly over the week, then the person does not "pull" on large portions, which were usual before the diet. This prevents weight gain in the future. Water balance is maintained due to the fact that drinking dishes contain a lot of liquid.
What can and what can not?
Having chosen a drinking diet for 7 days, you should stock up not only on patience, but also on a variety of drinks, without which the nutrition program will seem meager and boring. Variety softens the extreme conditions of the course a little. If the conditions are correctly followed, you will lose 5-7 kg per week. Fluctuations in indicators depend on the initial weight and, to a large extent, on the individual characteristics of the body.
- What can you eat? More precisely, drink, because we are talking about the drinking system. An approximate drinking diet by days of the week may look like this.
- Dairy products with fat content up to 2%.
- Vegetable, fish, meat broths, cream soups.
- Homemade juices from fruits and vegetables.
- Teas: black with milk, green with lemon.
- Unsweetened compotes and kissels made from fresh fruits.
- Milk.
- Broths again.
Clean water is always on the menu - 1.5 liters daily. It saturates the body with moisture, dulls the appetite somewhat. Spicy, fatty, alcoholic drinks are strictly prohibited.
The diet will be most useful if the person losing weight tolerates it normally. Regularly goes to the toilet - without difficulties, but also without diarrhea, does not experience severe nausea, weakness, dizziness, tearfulness, depression, or other unpleasant phenomena. If there are dangerous symptoms, the diet is immediately stopped.
Answering the question: what can't you eat? - you can list for a long time the solid foods that the diet prohibits. It is easier to stop at what is allowed. And during the drinking diet for 7 days you can drink almost everything, except for colored sodas and industrial juices: these products contain too many sweet components. You also cannot add sugar or honey to homemade teas, compotes, kissels, coffee, fresh juices. In short, liquids in this system replace both food and drink.
- The method is strict, so it will not suit everyone.
It is best suited for young people without health problems who want to correct their figure. Older people should look for a softer alternative.
You should prepare for the drinking diet a week in advance: eat less solid foods and drink more liquid. Portions should be gradually reduced so that by the beginning of the course your digestion gets used to the changes a little. The authors claim that chewing is just a psychological habit, not a necessity, so in principle you can do without solid foods.
No one disputes the undoubted benefits of fresh juices. But you should remember a few features:
- A large number of active components can cause gastritis and ulcers, as well as allergic reactions.
- Acids destroy tooth enamel.
- Carrot juice can give your skin an orange tint.
To avoid such consequences, fresh juices are diluted with water and drunk no more than two glasses per day.
Contraindications
Any type of drinking diet, for 7 days or longer, is not suitable for everyone. First of all, contraindications concern people with digestive problems, with liver and kidney disorders, as well as those weakened by illness or physical exertion. Such diets are prohibited for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
- The diet is contraindicated for young people under 18, professional athletes, and those with increased physical activity.
After liquid food, the digestive system does not immediately switch to solid foods. If a person quickly switches to a normal diet, then the weight does not lose the chance to return to its previous values. Therefore, it is contraindicated to leave the program not according to plan.
Possible risks
The disadvantages of the drinking method include the likelihood of risks associated with the diet. They mainly concern the digestive system. Thus, the abuse of fruits sometimes leads to an exacerbation of digestive pathologies, and sour juices are harmful to teeth. Sweet fruits negatively affect the production of insulin, which is why the 7-day drinking diet is not recommended to be practiced too often.
- If a 30-day course is allowed once a year, then a two-week course is allowed once every few months. Fasting days will not cause harm - even if they are practiced constantly, every week.
Nutritionists remind that during a drinking diet, calcium is excreted from the body. Its deficiency must be replenished with pharmaceutical preparations.
Some experts consider this method of losing weight harmful and even dangerous to health. The danger is that malnutrition can lead to partial dystrophy of internal organs. And if you leave the diet too quickly or with mistakes, then there is a risk of anorexia and dangerous irreversible consequences.
- The longer you eat liquid food, the more dangerous the consequences.
If the program lasts a month, the gastrointestinal mucosa atrophies, and digestive enzymes stop being produced. The body does not accept solid food, and reacts to it with uncontrollable vomiting and diarrhea. After such changes, it may take months and years to restore the digestive system. This warning is useful for people who resort to strict diets without extreme need.
Complications
The difficulty of the 7-day drinking diet is that it is impossible to complete it without feeling hungry. This is explained not only by the smaller amount of food, but also by the fact that liquid food does not require chewing. This is unusual, so the body feels as if it “didn’t eat anything.”
- Possible complications include irritability, weakness, intense hunger and a desire to break the diet in order to eat to one's heart's content.
Some girls want to cry and feel sorry for themselves, beautiful, making great sacrifices for the sake of an imaginary “ideal” figure.
Light food can cause a negative reaction in the stomach, so the diet is accompanied by irregular bowel movements, hunger spasms of the digestive organs, active fermentation and gas formation.
- With long courses, the condition of the skin, hair, and nails worsens.
Allergenic components of juices can cause a reaction. Deficiency of protein substances leads to anemia, dysfunction of the genitals, weakened immunity, menstrual cycle disorders. Excessive fluid load provokes toxicosis, dehydration. Kidneys can react with malfunctions. Sometimes legs swell.
Those who fast need to engage in gentle physical activity, otherwise overload can cause severe weakness and even fainting. If there are threatening symptoms, the diet should be stopped and medical help should be sought immediately.
