Rice is a staple food in many Asian countries. Its grains are a good adsorbent, which is why they are chosen to cleanse the body of toxins and waste. In addition, it is rich in nutrients: vitamins (groups B, E, H, PP), minerals (iron, aluminum, boron, iodine, calcium, potassium, molybdenum, sodium, etc.), satisfies hunger well, does not cause allergic reactions, because it does not contain gluten. Indications for the procedure

Rice is present in many dietary nutrition systems. Like a sponge, it absorbs waste that clogs the intestines and removes it. That is why the indications for cleansing the body with rice are as follows:

  • weight loss - usually a rice diet lasts 5-7 days, it allows you to include raw vegetables and fruits in the menu, so you don’t get bored with monotony, and excludes salt;
  • elimination of waste and toxins;
  • removal of salts deposited in the joints - this condition corresponds to the diagnosis of gout (high levels of uric acid formed due to impaired kidney function or improper metabolism).

People with excess weight, pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary and respiratory systems can resort to it. [ 2 ]

Preparation

There are many methods of rice cleansing, but most of them involve a similar preparation stage: for 5-7 days, do not burden yourself emotionally and physically, avoid overeating, drink a lot, including herbal teas.

The grain itself is also prepared in advance. It is soaked in water in order to get rid of as many starchy substances as possible.

Technique of the rice cleanse

The existence of various techniques for cleansing the body with rice is united by the possibility of doing it at home. Tibetan cleansing is very popular. For several centuries, monks have used it to get rid of diseases and for prevention.

Among the variety of rice varieties, it is best to take wild rice for cleaning. If you do not perceive its smell, texture, taste, which distinguish it from the white rice we are used to, you can take any.

5 days before the procedure, 2 spoons of thoroughly washed rice are placed in a jar with cooled boiled water (half a liter volume is enough), tightly closed with a lid, numbered and put in the refrigerator. In the next 4 days, the action is repeated and 5 portions are obtained.

On the 6th day, in the morning, the contents of the first jar are poured into a sieve (water does not participate in the cleansing), and the rice is eaten raw on an empty stomach, chewing thoroughly. Fill jar No. 6. Each subsequent morning begins with the next portion and a new preparation.

If this option is not suitable, you can boil it for a few minutes without adding salt or oil. Cooked rice has a more gentle effect on the body, but this reduces the effectiveness of the procedure.

After eating rice, you can't eat or drink anything for 3 hours. In other foods, you need to stick to healthier ingredients and cooking methods, give preference to raw vegetables, fruits, drink a lot, and don't overeat. This will also help you get rid of extra pounds.

The course duration varies from one to two months. No more than two cleanses can be performed per year. During their implementation, headaches and weakness may occur. In this case, the diet is enhanced with fresh fruit and vegetable juices, herbal teas.

Contraindications to the procedure

Cleansing the body with rice should not be done in the penultimate and final stages of obesity, constipation, or individual intolerance.

Consequences after the procedure

Too long or too frequent rice cleansing will lead to the leaching of calcium and other useful substances, as they are excreted together with toxins. Other complications are associated with contraindications if ignored.

Care after the procedure

The procedure does not require a special rehabilitation period, except for certain gastronomic abstinences mentioned above.

Based on their experience, people advise cleansing the body during the warm season, as well as replenishing the loss of potassium and calcium with foods rich in them (dried apricots, almonds, sesame, spinach, pumpkin, parsley, parmesan cheese, beans, avocado).
