Ozone therapy is the use of ozone-oxygen mixtures for therapeutic purposes in the form of injections or ozonized preparations for external use.

In body cosmetology, the most popular method of treating cellulite is injection.

Depending on the ratio of the ozone and oxygen gas mixture introduced to different depths into the subcutaneous fat tissue, it is possible to achieve the effects of skin lifting, lipolysis, tissue swelling relief, softening of fibrous cellulite nodes, and skin contour alignment. The procedure gives a quick visible result after the first session. After the course, the result lasts for about 6-8 months. It combines well with other methods of body shaping, including injections.

Ozone therapy gives good results when working with stretch marks and scars, increases immunity and antioxidant protection locally in the area of administration and the whole body. The effect of oxygen enhances metabolic processes, improves mood.

Side effects and complications

  1. Complications are mainly associated with the action of oxygen and the intensification of metabolic processes in the body. This can lead to an exacerbation of diseases accompanied by a high rate of metabolic and enzymatic reactions (thyrotoxicosis, pancreatitis, exacerbation of mental illnesses, increased convulsive readiness).
  2. Pain at the injection site of the ozone-oxygen mixture. The higher the ozone concentration, the stronger the pain. The pain depends on both the volume of infiltrated gas and the injection area. Injections into areas with a high fat content are less painful.
  3. Hematomas. This complication is typical for all injection techniques.

Oxygen therapy as an injection method has been used relatively recently. The active substance used is allotropic oxygen (singlet oxygen) modified by high electric discharge or irradiation.

Indications and contraindications are the same as for ozone therapy, with the exception of methods for treating dilated vessels and mastopathy.

During the reflexotherapy procedure, the impact on acupuncture points is used to excite or inhibit various reactions using acupuncture, drug administration, acupressure, etc.

In cosmetology, the main methods used are the introduction of mesopreparations into reflex points, ozone-oxygen injections and a combined method - homeooxymesotherapy.

Homeooxymesotherapy is the introduction of microdoses of homeopathic preparations activated by ozone or singlet oxygen into acupuncture points.

The advantage of this method is its high efficiency, the speed of the procedure, since it does not require injections over large areas, the absence of an allergic reaction when using homeopathic preparations, and the introduction of a small volume of solution - 1-2 ml per procedure.
