What arm strength can tell you about your risk of depression: Data from nearly 500,000 people

How the study was conducted

Why grip strength might be linked to mental health

Limitations of the study

It's impossible to say that grip strength below a specific number of kilograms signifies an increased risk of depression for every individual. The fourth limitation is the potential influence of publication bias in the odds ratio analysis. The authors found indications that published studies may not fully reflect the entire data set, and that adjustment methods for high heterogeneity are not ideal.
