Orthopedists and podologues consider usual flip-flops "through a finger" the most correct footwear from the point of view of anatomy. Why?

Conventional beach slippers, as it turns out, can help prevent the development of several of the most common deformities of the foot, to which the majority of the adult population of the planet is prone. The most famous pathology is the change in the joint at the base of the thumb, because of which a painful cone appears on the inside of the foot: "a bone": because of this stone, a large number of women over 25 years are deprived of the opportunity not only to wear model shoes, just walking ... Shoes "through the finger" is capable in some cases to prevent or, at least, significantly slow down the pathological process.

Slippers are recognized as the most proper footwear

The fact is that narrow shoes with prolonged wearing cause the joint at the base of the thumb to take an abnormal position: the thumb begins to crawl into the neighboring one. The jumper - especially soft and plump - on the contrary, does not allow a large finger to come close to a neighbor.

There is an opinion that flip flops through the finger are harmful with valgus platypodia. Strictly speaking, with this diagnosis, you simply do not need to wear shoes on a flat sole. But if you choose flip-flops on a small raised platform under the heel, in addition from elastic rubber, then no such shoes will bring any complications.

However, there is some category of "slap", from which it is worth staying away: flip flops on a hard and thin soles. They look very graceful on the leg, but you can walk in them very briefly and only on a perfectly flat surface. Neither on the beach, nor in the city they are not worth wearing: a thin and stiff sole, fixed on the foot in three points, leads to the fact that the shock load on the foot, ankle and knee increases at times! The sole of the slippers must be very elastic, not thinner than 1 centimeter and non-slip.

Choosing the next pair, carefully consider the shoes. It's bad if the flip flops are made of too smooth plastic or covered with glaze: in such shoes it makes sense, when it is important to be able to disinfect it (for example, in a hospital). Do not choose flip flops with cumbersome and hanging in all directions ornaments: all this will irritate the tender skin of the foot when walking. Carefully consider the jumper: it should be thick enough, round in cross section and not have any stitches, scars or layers (sometimes with poor plastic quality). When fitting, it is important to pay attention to the handles: they should not fit too tightly to the leg!
