Every time we sit down at the dinner table, we hardly set ourselves the goal of overeating, but it happens, and not so rarely. Sometimes we are too emotional or simply distracted by something else and do not even notice how a large portion of food has slowly migrated from the plate to the stomach.

To make such cases happen as rarely as possible, try to do the following:

No rush

The speed of food consumption is important. If you empty your plate in a second, then the person will not have time to dull the feeling of hunger and therefore will be able to eat something else before feeling completely full. If you have difficulty controlling this process, then set a timer on your watch, which will notify you that you are full.

Don't stand while eating.

Sit down at the table and enjoy your meal. If a person stands during a meal, he is more distracted by extraneous things, not paying attention to how much he eats.

Focus on food

And you will see what a pleasure it is to feel and savor each bite of the dish. This will allow you to slow down if you are hungry and risk eating enough for two at once.

Eat what you want

Life is too short to deny yourself anything, but if you don't want to shorten it even more, approach your food choices wisely, not forgetting that your favorite cakes will settle on your waistline.

Have lunch in company

A shared meal is more fun and even brings more pleasure from food. Therefore, if possible, eat in company.

Don't leave food on the table

The temptation to grab something tasty from a plate standing freely on the table will be too great. Try not to leave food in visible places.

Imagine you are in a restaurant

Usually in a restaurant people are not in a hurry and eat much more slowly than at home. It is very useful to imagine yourself at a restaurant dinner and imitate such a meal. If your household members join you, this will be very easy to do.

Drink water

Before eating, you can drink a glass of water to fill your stomach with liquid. Take a short break, and then start eating.
