The negative effects of alcohol can be reduced in 2.5 hours
Last reviewed: 02.07.2025

Experts have shared a secret: you can reduce the load on your liver after drinking alcohol in just 2.5 hours a week. In the modern world, there is no clearly positive or negative attitude towards alcohol: some people categorically do not accept alcohol, others allow themselves a glass or two only on holidays, and some cannot live a day without a glass of wine. Medicine has long ceased to call for the complete elimination of alcohol from life. Nevertheless, there are norms for the consumption of "strong" drinks: this is necessary in order not to harm human health. It is believed that the permissible weekly volume of alcoholic beverages is 6-8 glasses of good wine or 3.5 liters of beer. However, many are interested in the question: what terrible things can happen if you exceed the recommended norms in alcohol consumption? In fact, a lot really depends on the number of glasses drunk. With each "dose" drunk, the risk of developing diseases such as heart attack and stroke, malignant tumors and sudden death increases. In addition, people who regularly and in large quantities consume alcohol experience irreversible changes at the conscious level - this process is called alcoholism. After all, not everyone has a sense of proportion and willpower. It would seem that a harmless "couple of glasses" a day can quickly turn into a bad habit. Frequent consumption of "strong" drinks disrupts metabolism, and excess weight appears: alcohol increases appetite and itself contains a large number of calories. Fortunately, scientists have figured out how to minimize the harmful effects of alcohol on the function of the liver, kidneys and the general condition of the body. The method in question helps to "neutralize" alcohol for literally two and a half hours - this is intense exercise, which only needs to be devoted 2.5 hours a week. Specialists from the UK and Australia conducted a comprehensive experiment, based on the results of which important conclusions were made: physical activity helps to eliminate the negative impact of alcoholic beverages on the human body almost twice as much. In addition, experts have noted that such an effect of sports is found even in people who exceed the recommended amount of alcohol and consume it in large quantities. It turns out that regular physical exercise is an effective way to reduce the harmful effects of alcohol. And you will have to devote only 2.5 hours a week to these exercises. In addition to what has been said, scientists have noted: the more people pay attention to sports, the less the desire to consume any alcoholic beverage becomes. In this way, by arranging regular workouts in the gym, many manage to overcome even chronic alcoholism. It is within the power of each person to get rid of such a pernicious addiction - to become healthy and active.
