During the celebrations dedicated to the graduation of students of the Kharkiv National Medical Institute, Oleg Musiy reported that young specialists today have new opportunities. Congratulating the graduates on their graduation, the Minister of Health noted that 570 bachelors and masters from different faculties graduated from the Kharkiv Medical Institute, of which 281 are foreign students. Almost 70% of graduates will become family doctors.
According to Oleg Musiy, Kharkov is famous for its medical achievements and the National Medical Institute is rightfully considered one of the best higher education institutions in Ukraine.
According to the Minister, today's graduates face a difficult task, since they are the ones who will have to build a new national health care system, which should first and foremost be aimed at the patient, his needs and requirements. Oleg Musiy also noted that tomorrow's doctors face new requirements, since modern medicine needs denationalization and a new approach to organizing health care with the involvement of self-governing medical institutions, the public and the professional community.
In addition, the Minister of Health expressed hope that it is young specialists who will contribute to the fact that the medical profession will become the most in-demand, humane and wise, which will replace modern ideas about the status of a medical worker.
Young professionals have the opportunity to build a modern, powerful healthcare system with decent wages and social guarantees.
At the end of his speech, the Minister supported the graduates of the Kharkiv Medical University and wished them enough strength to accumulate professional knowledge in the future, as well as a good summer vacation before the start of difficult work.
Oleg Musiy wished the university's teaching staff to maintain the worthy educational process of the educational institution and to hold the entrance ceremony with dignity.
The Minister of Health expressed special gratitude to the student volunteers who are currently working in the hospitals of Slobozhanshchina, providing normal care for patients who suffered in the East of Ukraine or who are blood donors.
In addition, Oleg Musiy, on behalf of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, presented letters of thanks and certificates to the best teachers of the Kharkiv Medical University.
It is worth recalling that over more than 200 years of work, Kharkiv National Medical University has trained over 65 thousand specialists, of which about 5 thousand were citizens of foreign countries.
The first graduation of the Kharkov Medical Institute took place in 1816, and then graduations took place in various formats: according to an accelerated program, twice a year, and there were even years when, due to unforeseen circumstances, there were no students graduating from the educational institution.
This year, the Kharkiv Medical Institute held its 199th graduation. Currently, over 7 thousand students, masters, interns, clinical residents, postgraduates are studying at the educational institution, among whom there are more than 3 thousand foreign citizens from 73 countries.
