First aid kit on vacation: what does it include?
Last reviewed: 01.07.2025
The GfK Ukraine company conducted a survey among the population of Ukraine. The topic was the formation of special first aid kits for vacations, the purchase of medicines and the principles of their selection.
Less than a third of respondents (26%) visit pharmacies before their vacations, while 66% do not consider it necessary to create a special first aid kit that they will take on their trip.
Regarding the list of medical products that end up in the first-aid kits of Ukrainian tourists, the undisputed leaders are painkillers (77% of those who put together a first-aid kit for vacation) and medications "for intestinal disorders" (68%). Slightly less than half of respondents take with them products for skin disinfection (42%), for improving digestion (42%), as well as sunburn remedies (40%).
Ukrainians usually stock a special first aid kit for vacation with proven drugs: 76% of those who take a first aid kit on vacation named "previous positive experience of using a medical product" as the main criterion for purchasing drugs. A third of respondents consult with a doctor, another third consult with a pharmacist. The price factor occupies only the fifth place: only 11% of respondents who form a special first aid kit said that the cost of drugs is an important criterion for them when deciding to buy them.
