Young people who mix alcohol with energy drinks risk developing rapid heartbeat and sleep disturbances.

Energy drinks with alcohol kill you outright

The study found that high-caffeine drinks, commonly known as energy drinks, contribute to a range of health problems. And those who drink energy drinks with alcohol are six times more likely to suffer from rapid heartbeat than those who drink separately. They are also four times more likely to experience symptoms such as tremors, irritability, and sudden bursts of energy followed by a complete collapse.

The symptoms are similar to those caused by large doses of caffeine, which is found in energy drinks. On average, one small can of the drink contains as much caffeine as 3 cans of cola. Experts from the University of Tasmania say that to avoid side effects, it is best to drink alcohol and energy drinks separately, as all of the above effects will be exacerbated. The study, which involved 403 men and women aged 18-35, proved that fans of energy drinks are less at risk.

Fans of such a wild mixture as alcohol and energy drinks are more likely to encounter such side effects as increased speech speed, irritability, overexcitement. This happens due to excessive stimulation of the body. And, although fans of only energy drinks are not capable of such actions as creating emergency situations on the road, fights, etc., they still risk their health greatly, bringing the body to extremes and leading to heart disease and the development of some unpleasant conditions.
