Vitamin B6-deficiency anemia develop with deficiency or increased intake of vitamin B 6.

Vitamin B 6 is found in large quantities in fresh vegetables, cereals, yeast, meat, egg yolks and other foods. Therefore, the true hypo- or vitamin deficiency of vitamin B 6 is very rare and mainly in infants. The causes of vitamin B 6 deficiency are unilateral breastfeeding, long-term intestinal infections accompanied by dysbacteriosis. In 6- deficient anemia may be due to increased intake of vitamin, which is noted in some patients receiving isotonicotinic acid anti-tuberculosis drugs (isothiazide, tubazide, GINK, phtivazide, salusid, etc.). Derivatives of isonicotinic acid form compounds with pyridoxine, which are excreted from the body with urine. It is assumed that these patients have a hereditary defect in the synthesis of porphyrins.

Symptoms of vitamin B6-deficiency anemia

Characterized by a violation of the general condition, anxiety, sleep disturbance. Decreased appetite, dyspeptic disorders are possible. Treatment of vitamin B6-deficiency anemia

  1. Correction of diet.
  2. Vitamin B 6 intramuscularly, daily until the elimination of signs of anemia, at a dose of 5 times the age-related preventive dose.
