Despite the fact that warts do not pose a particular danger to humans, their very presence is unpleasant for both the owner and strangers, and they can also be transmitted through tactile contact, through objects they have touched. Many people do not rush to beauty salons to remove warts, but look for ways to get rid of them on their own. One of these folk methods is the use of vinegar. [ 1 ]

Indications of vinegar for warts

Vinegar is used to burn:

  • common or vulgar warts, most often located on the hands, soles of the feet (plantar, occurring mainly in places where shoes rub against the skin);
  • flat or juvenile - irregularly shaped nodules appear on the back of the hands, face in children and young people.

Pharmacodynamics

Since most warts are keratinized elevations above the surface of the body, food acids, when applied to them, accelerate exfoliation and, ultimately, their disappearance. [ 2 ]

Dosing and administration

There are different recipes with vinegar, each one may be effective. Before the procedure, it is advisable to steam the wart. In order not to damage the skin around the bump, you need to lubricate it with Vaseline or cut a hole in a cotton pad (plaster) for the wart, place it so as to protect healthy areas. [ 3 ] The following components will help remove growths:

  • vinegar with flour for warts - mix a small amount of vinegar with flour (the volume depends on the area of application) and form a ball, stick it to the growth, seal with adhesive tape, bandage and do not remove for three days. The wart should come out, leaving a small depression from the root, which will level out over time;
  • apple cider vinegar for warts - it is also capable of destroying their keratinized tissue. You can find five percent vinegar on sale, soak a cotton ball in it, apply it to the neoplasm, separate it from the bandage with a piece of cellophane, which is used to secure this compress, and remove it after a day. Repeat the procedure until the wart disappears. This may take from one to two weeks;
  • onion and vinegar for warts - soak a slice of onion in vinegar for at least 2 hours and apply overnight. Repeat every evening until it falls off;
  • garlic with vinegar for warts - a clove of garlic is crushed, poured with a teaspoon of vinegar essence, flour is added so that a dough is obtained. It is then fixed to the neoplasm.

Application for children

Children have delicate and sensitive skin, so burning with vinegar can lead to skin burns and deep, painful wounds. It is best to use another, less traumatic method.
