Indications Venitana

It is used for the following disorders:

  • varicose veins;
  • venous insufficiency, which is accompanied by a feeling of heaviness and pain in the legs, the appearance of night cramps (usually affecting the calf muscles), swelling in the legs and itching;
  • a feeling of heaviness in the legs due to prolonged standing, heavy loads on the legs, and also due to pregnancy;
  • swelling in the soft tissue area caused by bruises , ligament injuries, and other similar injuries;
  • infiltrates resulting from injections, as well as hematomas developing as a result of injuries – to help speed up the processes of their resorption.

Release form

It is released in the form of a gel, in a 50 g tube. The package contains 1 tube of gel.

Pharmacodynamics

The active ingredient of the drug is escin, which is obtained from the esculus, inside which it is in the form of a mixture of triterpene-type saponins. Separate mechanisms of action of the substance allow it to effectively eliminate the symptoms of varicose veins.

The anti-inflammatory effect, which is exerted mainly at the initial stage of inflammation development, is carried out by compacting the capillary membranes, which helps to strengthen their strength. In addition, escin has a positive effect on venous tone and capillary fragility.

The combination of all these effects helps to reduce congestion within the venous bed and reduce fluid accumulation within adjacent tissues. This prevents the development of pain and swelling.

Dosing and administration

Venitan is used externally only. The gel should be applied in a thin layer to the affected areas. It should be lightly rubbed into the skin. The drug should be used 2-3 times a day.

If the medication is used to relieve the symptoms of varicose veins in the legs, it is recommended to wear special compression garments (such as tights, knee-highs or stockings).

Reviews

Venitan receives mostly positive reviews, although there are also many negative opinions about it. Most likely, most of the negative comments regarding the effectiveness of the drug are related to the fact that it is used too late - in cases where it is no longer possible to prevent the occurrence of varicose veins (more powerful medications are required to eliminate it).

Positive reviews contain the opinion that the substance effectively reduces swelling in the legs, as well as pain and a feeling of heaviness associated with prolonged standing and heavy loads, and at the same time reduces the manifestations of "spider veins" that occur in pregnant women.

Negative comments usually indicate that the effect of the drug takes a long time to take effect, and in addition, patients complain about the stickiness and unpleasant smell of the drug.

It is important to remember that medications used externally are usually used for prevention, treatment of mild diseases, or to reduce the severity of negative reactions (such as heaviness and pain in the legs). In this regard, using the gel in monotherapy of moderate or severe pathologies will be ineffective - to achieve results, it is necessary to supplement the treatment with other drugs.
