Indications Vabadine 20 mg
Vabadine 20 mg can be used to treat patients with signs of high cholesterol in the blood, in particular, homozygous or family type.
Other indications of the drug:
- mixed form of dyslipidemia;
- prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular changes;
- disturbance of metabolic processes, diabetes mellitus with imbalance of cholesterol balance.
Release form
Preparation Vabadine 20 mg is produced in tablet form. The carton pack contains two contoured cellular plates of 14 coated tablets in each plate.
One tablet form includes the active ingredient simvastatin in an amount of 20 mg, as well as additional substances in the form of lactose monohydrate.
Pharmacodynamics
Vabadine 20 mg is a hypocholesterolemic drug with an active substance simvastatin. The drug is used inside, the metabolism of simvastatin occurs in the liver, where a pharmacologically active form is formed. This drug is an inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme-A-reductase inhibits the conversion of coenzymes to mevalonic acids, reducing the natural synthesis of cholesterol.
Vabadine 20 mg reduces the amount of cholesterol in the body, and it does not matter how much it was present in the blood initially.
In addition to inhibiting the synthesis of cholesterol, the drug can promote the activation of low-density lipoprotein receptors. The number of plasma proteins decreases, the triglyceride level decreases, and the concentration of lipoproteins increases.
Pharmacokinetics
After ingestion, the product is perfectly absorbed in the digestive system. The process of metabolism occurs in the liver: a pharmacologically active metabolite is formed. The maximum threshold of the metabolite in the blood serum is observed after 1.5-2 hours after the medication has entered the stomach. Presence of food residues in the stomach, as a rule, does not affect the degree of absorption and bioavailability of the active substance. The drug perfectly binds to serum proteins (95%). Removal of the drug occurs through the intestine and partially through the kidneys.
Vabadine 20 mg has no properties to accumulate by the body and should be excreted in approximately 96 hours.
Dosing and administration
The drug Vabadin 20 mg is used for oral administration, the tablet in the shell should be swallowed without chewing and breaking it, with water. A daily dose is prescribed, as a rule, once a day. For more effective treatment, the tablet should be taken closer to the evening or in the afternoon.
With the combined use of funds that enhance the secretory activity of the gallbladder, it is necessary to maintain a pause between the intake of two drugs no less than 4 hours.
Duration of treatment and dosage doctor determines individually. The standard dosage is 5-80 mg once a day.
Patients with increased cholesterol during treatment should follow a special diet that restricts the consumption of foods with a high content of animal fats. Treatment of such patients usually begin with a dosage of 10 mg.
Patients with a hereditary increase in cholesterol level can be increased to 40 mg.
When appointing any treatment regimen, the daily amount of the drug should not be more than 80 mg.

Use Vabadine 20 mg during pregnancy
Vabadine 20 mg is contraindicated for use during pregnancy. Moreover, even before the beginning of treatment with this drug, women of reproductive age should confirm the absence of pregnancy, and during the period of using the drug to apply acceptable methods of contraception. When planning pregnancy, the drug should be canceled no less than 30 days before the planned conception.

Contraindications

- hypersensitivity to individual components of the drug;
- signs of galactose intolerance, lactose deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption;
- severe hepatic pathology;
- pregnancy and lactation period, children under 18 years of age.
It is not recommended to use the drug for serious pathologies of the kidneys, reduced thyroid function, alcohol dependence, in the elderly and senile age.

Side effects Vabadine 20 mg
Sometimes the use of the drug Vabadin 20 mg may trigger the appearance of some side effects:
- digestive disorders, attacks of nausea, bloating, disruption of the liver, pancreas;
- Migraine, numbness of limbs, polyneuropathy;
- Muscle pains and convulsions, arthrosis, joint pain;
- signs of anemia, acceleration of ESR, the phenomenon of thrombocytopenia and eosinophilia;
- increased activity of hepatic transaminases, alkaline phosphatases and creatine phosphokinase;
- an allergic reaction in the form of dermatitis, hives, conjunctivitis, vasculitis.
Among the more rare side effects can be called the development of alopecia, hyperthermia, redness of the skin.
Overdose
Use of the drug Vabadin 20 mg in an amount exceeding 80 mg may be accompanied by an increase in adverse events.
An overdose of the drug involves the use of gastric lavage and the use of activated carbon suspended. In some cases, symptomatic treatment is possible.
Signs of an overdose can not pose a danger to the life of the patient.
Interactions with other drugs
The joint administration of medicinal medicament, nicotinic acid and fibrates promotes an increased risk of formation of various myopathies and rhabdomyolysis.
Contraindication to joint administration may be the use of inhibitors of CYP3A4, in particular, itraconazole, nefazodone, erythromycin and ketoconazole.
It is not recommended the appointment of this medication and gemfibrozil. If such a combination is indispensable, the maximum dosage of Vabadin should not be above 10 mg. Similarly, should be done with the joint use of cyclosporins, danazol and niacin.
When co-treated with amiodarone or veropamil, the maximum dosage of Vabadin should not be more than 20 mg / day.
When combined treatment with diltiazem dosage Vabadin should not be above 40 mg / day.
During the course of treatment, one can not eat grapefruit, and also drink juice from them.
