Drip solution Urolesan is a known herbal remedy used for urological diseases.
Indications of the urolesana
Liquid Urolesan is often prescribed:
- in acute and chronic stages of bacterial kidney diseases and pathologies of the urinary system;
- with the formation of kidney stones and urate acid diathesis;
- with a chronic form of the inflammatory process in the gallbladder and stones in the system of biliary excretion;
- with dyskinesia of bile ducts.
Urolesan can be used to treat and prevent the formation of stones in the system of biliary excretion and kidneys.
Release form
Urolesan is a solution that is used in the form of drops for internal administration. The solution has a brownish or greenish hue and a specific mint flavor.
The composition of Urolesan is represented by a large number of plant components:
- fir, mint, castor oils;
- extracts from carrot seed, hops, oregano.
Urolean is packaged in drip-dosing flasks of 25 ml each. Each bottle is packed in a cardboard box.
Pharmacodynamics
Urolean refers to combined medicines on a plant basis. Herbal ingredients are selected in such a way that in combination with each other to inhibit the growth of the inflammatory process in the urinary system and kidneys, improve blood circulation in the kidneys and liver.
Urolesan has a pronounced diuretic, antimicrobial, choleretic effect, and also creates a protective membrane along the urinary tract and stabilizes the smooth muscle tone of the upper urinary system and gallbladder.
Urolesan potentiates the excretion of urea and chloride compounds, accelerates the excretion of small stones and sand from the urinary system and the kidneys.
Pharmacokinetics
Urolesan and the main ingredients of the medicinal liquid are well absorbed in the digestive system. The effect of the medication is found 20-30 minutes after its use, and can last up to five hours.
The maximum possible action of Urolesan is observed after about an hour and a half. Medication is excreted through the digestive system and kidneys.
Dosing and administration
Drop Drip Urolesan should be consumed before eating.
Adult patients are recommended to drip 8-10 drops per slice of raffinate (if sugar is prohibited, then you can drip on bread crumb), eat three times a day. In the period of renal or hepatic colic, a single dose can range from 15 to 20 drops.
The duration of the course of therapy is about a week, and for chronic pathologies - from one week to four weeks.
In childhood (from seven to 14 years) it is recommended to drink 5 drops of Urolesan with sugar or bread, three times a day. The duration of admission is determined by the pediatrician individually.
A child up to the age of seven should be prescribed Urolesan in the form of a syrup.
Use of the urolesana during pregnancy
To date, there is no information on the possibility of using Urolesan by pregnant and lactating patients, as studies on this have not been conducted. Considering this, one should abstain from the therapy of Urolesan in the mentioned periods of gestation and breastfeeding of the baby.
Contraindications
The doctor will not appoint Urolesan:
- with excessive sensitivity to the components of Urolesan;
- with diseases of the digestive system (inflammatory reactions in the stomach, stomach ulcer and duodenal ulcer).
It is not recommended to take Urolesan to children who have previously been diagnosed with seizures.
Side effects of the urolesana
Most patients tolerate Urolesan treatment well. However, the medication may be accompanied by:
- dyspepsia (nausea, diarrhea, pain in the abdomen);
- allergy (itching, redness of the skin, swelling, burning in the mouth);
- dizziness, weakness, trembling in the limbs, pain in the head;
- lowering or increasing blood pressure, slowing down the heart rate.

Overdose
With an overdose of Urolesan, nausea (up to vomiting), abdominal pain, dizziness may occur.
If you suspect an overdose, the patient should drink plenty of warm liquid, if possible lie down. In addition, it is possible to take a sorbent agent (for example, activated carbon).
In severe cases, atropine sulfate is used.
Shelf life
Urolesan can be stored for up to 2 years.
