Upper and lower posterior jagged muscles

To the ribs are attached two thin flat muscles - upper and lower posterior jagged.
The upper posterior muscular muscle (m. Serratus posterior superior) is located under the rhomboid muscles, the muscle begins with a flat tendon plate on the lower part of the nuchal ligament and the spinous processes of the sixth and seventh cervical and I-II thoracic vertebrae. Going obliquely from top to bottom and laterally, the muscle is attached by separate teeth to the back surface of the II-V ribs, outside of their corners.
Function: raises edges.
Innervation: intercostal nerves (ThI-ThIV).
Blood supply: posterior intercostal arteries, deep neck artery.
The lower posterior inferior muscle (m. Serratus posterior inferior) lies in front of the latissimus muscle of the back, begins with a tendon plate on the spinous processes of the XI-XII thoracic and I-II lumbar vertebrae. This muscle is fused to the superficial plate of the lumbosacral fascia and the beginning of the latissimus muscle of the back, attached by separate muscle teeth to the four lower ribs.
Function: lowers edges.
Innervation: intercostal nerves (ThIX-ThXII).
Blood supply: posterior intercostal arteries.
