Pharmacodynamics

Unilev is a combined herbal remedy based on three types of medicinal plants: milk thistle, turmeric and dandelion.

The effect of milk thistle is explained by the properties of silymarin - a combination of powerful antioxidants, such as silibin, silichristin, silidianin. The main abilities of this plant:

  • strengthening of cellular hepatic membranes;
  • protection from the negative effects of intoxication, ethyl alcohol, free radicals;
  • regeneration of affected liver cells, stimulation of phospholipid production;
  • facilitating metabolic processes;
  • prevention of fatty liver;
  • blocking the development of the inflammatory process in the liver and the bile excretory system;
  • stabilization of the formation and excretion of bile;
  • detoxification of the liver.

 The action of curcumin is manifested by the following properties:

  • choleretic;
  • anti-inflammatory;
  • lowers cholesterol.

 Dandelion also has a choleretic effect, due to the content of taracasterol in the plant.

Pharmacokinetics

The active substances of the drug interact with free radicals in the hepatic tissues and reduce their toxic effect. They also inhibit the process of cross-oxidation of fats, which can stop the destruction of hepatocytes. In the affected liver cells, the production of proteins and phospholipids is activated, the cell membranes are stabilized, the loss of basic cellular components and enzymes is blocked, the restoration of hepatocytes is accelerated.

Metabolism in the liver is a method of conjugation. The products of metabolism are derived through the system of bile secretion in the form of glucuronides and sulfates, and only a small part of them is excreted in the urine. Do not accumulate in the body.
