Treatment of psoriasis with hydrogen peroxide

Treating psoriasis with hydrogen peroxide is not a new method of combating this unpleasant disease. Even our parents knew that it is possible to get rid of the external symptoms of psoriasis without any problems using this remedy. How effective is hydrogen peroxide considered today, when you can easily find other drugs against psoriasis in pharmacies?
Indications for use
Hydrogen peroxide is great if the patient begins to be bothered by plaques on the skin. Inflammation can be treated in different ways: taken internally, rubbed, instilled into the nasal passages, or used as an injection (only on the recommendation of a doctor and under his supervision).
In order to quickly get rid of psoriatic plaques, you need to buy a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide and hydroperite at the pharmacy. According to the latest research, hydrogen peroxide helps saturate the internal organs with oxygen, due to which the main signs of psoriasis disappear. To enhance the effect, you can take vitamin C simultaneously with peroxide.
Treatment of psoriasis with hydrogen peroxide according to Neumyvakin
According to Professor Neumyvakin, hydrogen peroxide is one of the best means to combat psoriasis and plaques that appear on the skin during a relapse of this disease. At the same time, the professor recommends using the drug not only externally, but also internally to achieve an effective result.
Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease. To get rid of the disease Neumyvakin recommends:
- Use the product three times a day at equal intervals.
- Hydrogen peroxide is first taken internally in a minimal amount (one drop), gradually increasing to the maximum safe dose for humans (ten drops).
- The dosage is increased by one drop every day.
- After 10 days of taking the drug, take a break (from three to seven days). After that, start taking peroxide immediately with 10 drops.
Treatment with soda and hydrogen peroxide for psoriasis
Baking soda is another effective method of fighting psoriasis. It can be used internally or externally. If you use baking soda, applying it directly to the affected areas of the skin, the effect will not take long to come. It will help to quickly soften the skin, exfoliate plaques and relieve inflammation.
Please note that soda is used only in the early stages of the disease, as later it does not bring the expected result.
To relieve itching, which often accompanies the patient during an exacerbation of psoriasis, you can take a bath with baking soda. Remember, before this, the body must be rinsed in the shower. For effective treatment, you need to put about 300 ml of soda in a bath of water. The procedure should last at least twenty minutes. After the bath, let the body dry on its own. You need to take such baths at least once every three to four days.
Soda can be applied to damaged areas of skin. To do this, first mix it in hot water, then soak a towel in the resulting solution, which is applied to the plaques.
Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
Hydrogen peroxide is a time-tested antiseptic, deodorant and hemostatic drug. After the product gets on the affected areas of the skin, as well as upon contact with substances that can oxidize and restore, it decomposes under the influence of the peroxidase enzyme, releasing molecular oxygen. It is this that helps to oxidize, cleanse wounds from pus, inactivate organic substances, including proteins and blood.
How to use hydrogen peroxide for psoriasis
Psoriasis can be treated with hydrogen peroxide in different ways:
- When taking this remedy internally, you only need to use one drop of hydrogen peroxide per three tablespoons of clean water. The resulting solution is taken orally three times a day before meals. Each day, the number of drops increases by one until you reach 10. Take a three-day break and take the solution for three more days.
- There is also a method of treating plaques using hydrogen peroxide and "Hydroperite" tablets. Having bought everything you need at the pharmacy, you need to crush six tablets into powder and mix them in 25 ml of hydrogen peroxide. The affected areas of the skin are lubricated with the resulting mixture twice a day. Please note that the areas of the skin affected by plaques will hurt at first, but the discomfort will quickly pass.
- To use hydrogen peroxide externally, you need to apply a special compress to the plaques (for 30-40 minutes). To create a solution, take 50 ml of clean water and two teaspoons of peroxide.
- Take 200 ml of saline solution and 2 ml of hydrogen peroxide. The resulting mixture must be administered intravenously under the supervision of a specialist.
- When hydrogen peroxide is instilled into the nose, psoriatic plaques begin to disappear faster, since the product immediately enters the bloodstream.
Please note that treatment with this drug lasts from four to six weeks.
Using Hydrogen Peroxide for Psoriasis During Pregnancy
The main advantage of hydrogen peroxide is the fact that this remedy has virtually no contraindications for pregnant women. If you start to develop psoriatic plaques during pregnancy, hydrogen peroxide will help you quickly and easily get rid of unpleasant symptoms.
This remedy is also recommended for use to eliminate pathogenic microflora during breastfeeding.
Contraindications for use and side effects
Hydrogen peroxide should not be used if there is an intolerance to this component. In addition, patients with a history of kidney and liver disease, herpetiform dermatitis and hyperthyroidism should use this drug with caution.
In rare cases, the patient may experience allergic reactions to medical hydrogen peroxide (redness, urticaria, itching, irritation). During wound treatment, a slight tingling sensation is felt in the damaged area, which quickly passes.
Overdose and interactions with other drugs
In no case should you allow an overdose of hydrogen peroxide when treating psoriasis. Because then you will not only not get the desired result, but also add more problems to yourself. Overdosing on this remedy usually causes:
- Burns and spasms in the upper respiratory tract.
- Severe irritation of the gastric mucosa.
- Hemoglobinuria.
- Lethal outcome with a single dose of 1 g.
Gastric lavage is used to treat overdose.
Hydrogen peroxide is unstable in an alkaline environment, in light and at air temperatures above 25 degrees, when interacting with complex radicals and metal salts.
Storage conditions and shelf life
It is important to store the bottle with 3% solution of medical hydrogen peroxide in a dark and cool place (air temperature up to 25 degrees) protected from children.
As a rule, the shelf life of such a drug is two years. Under no circumstances should it be used after this period.
