Blisters usually form with second-degree burns - this is the most common degree of domestic burn injury. With such damage, people do not always go to the doctor, trying to treat the wound at home. If the area of damaged skin is small, then indeed, treatment of burns with blisters can be carried out at home. With one condition - it is strictly forbidden to open blisters with liquid contents on your own, so as not to worsen the situation.

Treatment methods

If blisters have formed on the skin, this means that the burn is superficial, namely, second degree. In such a situation, the victim should not only receive emergency care, but also undergo further treatment for rapid healing of the wound.

Similar treatment for burns with blisters may consist of the following stages:

  • prevention of wound infection, or elimination of infection in a wound;
  • stimulation of regenerative processes in tissues;
  • prevention of early opening of blisters and their drying out;
  • prevention of the formation of coarse scar tissue at the site of a burn with blisters.

Treating burns with blisters at home involves, first of all, following these recommendations:

  • Do not touch the surface of the burn with blisters with dirty hands;
  • for treatment it is necessary to use special medications for burns, such as Neosporin, Panthenol or Argosulfan, which have antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties;
  • When using ointments, it is necessary to ensure that they do not contain refractory fats;
  • It is important to protect the wound from infection: the best option is to bandage the burn area;
  • At night the bandage should be removed to allow the wound surface to dry and aerate.

Treatments for blistering burns

Acceleration of healing of burns with blisters is carried out in any convenient way, using external medications: ointments, sprays, gel preparations.

Perhaps one of the most popular remedies is Levomekol - it is a bactericidal and wound-healing ointment, which contains painkillers and anti-inflammatory components. The ointment can be applied on the first day of injury, and treatment should be continued for up to 4 days, but no more.

The second most popular remedy for blistering burns is Povidone-Iodine ointment. This is a preparation with active iodine: its action is antibacterial and regenerating.

The universal balm Rescuer can boast of a similar regenerating effect. It contains a large number of natural plant components, which makes this product not only effective, but also completely safe.

Specially developed medical preparations in the form of creams are used at the regeneration stage - that is, after waiting 3-4 days after receiving a burn with blisters. The cream differs from the ointment in composition: its action is aimed at maintaining the softness of the skin and preventing the formation of rough scars after a burn with blisters. At this stage, it is recommended to pay attention to Bepanten cream or Panthenol spray, which have a light texture and are well absorbed into the tissue.

In addition, in pharmacies you can buy special bandages or plasters for burns with blisters, which initially have an anti-burn impregnation and do not require additional application of drugs.

Treatment of a burn with boiling water with blisters

It is almost impossible to assess the depth of a boiling water burn on your own, so if blisters appear, you must definitely see a doctor. Only after the doctor has treated the wound and prescribed further treatment, can you go home.

Treatment for a blistering burn includes:

  • pain relief;
  • disinfection of the wound surface;
  • medical opening and cleaning of blisters;
  • dressing a wound.

The victim himself, before receiving medical assistance, can help himself independently. To do this, you should remember the following recommendations:

  • Do not apply the burn remedy immediately after exposure to boiling water. Cool the skin under cold running water first.
  • Do not apply alcohol solutions, including iodine or brilliant green, or vegetable oils to the skin. Vaseline may be used.
  • Do not pop blisters yourself - only a doctor can do this safely.
  • A burn with blisters from boiling water should not be treated with fermented milk products or soda or vinegar.

The best remedy for providing assistance with a burn with blisters is Panthenol spray. Preparations with a similar effect are Pantoderm, Dexpanthenol, Bepanten, etc. It is advisable to use such products in the first minutes after receiving an injury.

Treatment of burns with blisters using folk remedies

Folk remedies for burns with blisters can sometimes be very useful. Especially if there is no suitable anti-burn remedy in the home medicine cabinet.

  • Peel, wash and grate fresh carrots. Place the resulting mass in a clean cotton napkin or gauze and apply to the burnt surface for about 30 minutes.
  • Grind a piece of pumpkin pulp on a fine grater, place it in a piece of gauze and apply to the burnt skin for 20-30 minutes.
  • Take a gelatin capsule with vitamin E (tocopherol, a drug from a pharmacy). Open the capsule and squeeze the oily mass onto the wound. Lubricate the burn site 4 times a day.
  • Cut off the bottom leaf of the aloe, rinse it under running water, cut off the top skin and secure it with a bandage with the cut side to the burn site. Change the aloe leaf twice a day.

In addition, there are more complex recipes:

  • Prepare an ointment from calendula and a Vaseline base. First, make a decoction: pour 250 ml of boiling water over 2 tbsp. of calendula and keep on low heat for 5 minutes, then leave under a lid for 1 hour. After cooling, filter the decoction and mix with Vaseline, based on the proportion: one part of the prepared medicine - 2 parts of Vaseline. Store the ointment in the refrigerator, if necessary, use it to treat burns with blisters. You can apply the ointment to the skin 3 times a day.
  • Prepare an infusion of linden blossom: brew 1 full tablespoon of linden blossom with boiling water (250 ml). After cooling, filter the infusion and use as a lotion or for washing the affected skin.
  • In addition to the above, you can also prepare a healing ointment based on propolis. To prepare it, we will need: 50 g of beeswax, 30 g of propolis, 100 ml of olive oil. Warm the oil a little in a water bath, add the remaining ingredients, mix until a homogeneous creamy state. Store in the refrigerator, preferably in a dark container. For a burn with blisters, use the ointment under a bandage at night or for the whole day.

Herbs for blistering burns

To relieve or reduce pain from a burn with blisters, use washes or lotions with an infusion of succession, birch or nettle leaves, or horsetail grass. You can dry the wound a little and reduce exudation by washing with a decoction of oak bark, St. John's wort, or mint leaves.

Cool baths can be used for burnt limbs. For them, a herbal mixture is prepared by brewing 200 g of such a mixture in 4-5 liters of water. The mixture includes succession grass, chamomile flowers, valerian rhizome, sage leaves, celandine grass and St. John's wort.

Medicinal treatment can be combined with the use of a plantain decoction. To prepare it, take 1 tbsp. of crushed plantain leaves and pour 1 glass of boiling water, keep on low heat for 5-8 minutes, and leave for an hour. Filter the decoction and use it to irrigate the burn with blisters several times a day. The decoction can only be used fresh.

Homeopathy

Homeopathic remedies can significantly improve the situation with a burn if used in conjunction with the main drug treatment.

Unless the homeopathic doctor prescribes otherwise, take 2 granules in a 30C dilution every half hour, but no more than 3 times. Usually this dose is enough to alleviate the patient's condition.

If the drugs are more diluted (6X, 12X, 6C), they are taken every quarter of an hour.

  • Arsenicum album is taken for burns with blisters, which are accompanied by severe pain.
  • Cantharis - prevents the appearance of blisters.
  • Causticum and Phosphorus - useful as first aid.
  • Urtica urens – used for burns from boiling water, and also in cases where Cantharis does not help.

If a burn with blisters is accompanied by wound suppuration, increased temperature, general weakness, then you cannot continue treatment at home: you must urgently seek medical help. If you do not do this, then the treatment of burns with blisters can be delayed, and then dangerous complications cannot be avoided.
