The leaves of this exotic tree for our latitudes contain from 30 to 45% of essential (eucalyptus) oil. The basic substance of the extracts is cineole, which occupies up to 80% of the oil composition. Auxiliary compounds include cinnamic, ellagic and coumaric acids, gallotannins, tannins and many other components, of which up to 40 components have been identified.

In addition to essential oils and the substances already listed above, it contains flavonoids, wax and various resins, some terpene compounds. It is this unusual composition that dictates the main characteristics of the product, which is so widely used in medicine.

Dosing and administration

This preparation can be used orally, but mainly, Eucalyptus tincture is used as an ingredient in masks and compresses, and is effective in inhalations and rinses. In light of the above, the method of administration and dosage are prescribed and prescribed only by the attending physician. If the doctor has prescribed rinsing the mouth with eucalyptus tincture, then 10-15 drops of the medicine should be diluted in a glass of boiled water at a temperature of about 40 °C. This procedure is performed several times throughout the day.

Inhalation use is permitted both in diluted form (similar to rinsing) and in concentrated form. Steam inhalations will be effective not only in case of upper respiratory tract diseases, they can also be used to relieve dermatological problems. Possessing excellent antiseptic effects, the tincture works great, for example, for acne and pimples. In this case, washing with a solution of eucalyptus diluted in warm water is also suitable. Such procedures can be carried out every morning.

The duration of the treatment course directly depends on the speed of the positive result obtained. This process is controlled by the attending physician. And it is he who decides to continue or complete the procedures.
