Seknidoks is an antiprotozoal drug of a new generation, successfully combating various intestinal infections and many types of amoebiasis.
Indications of the sednidox
Diseases for which the use of Scribe:
- hepatic amoebiasis (causative agent of amoeba dysentery);
- intestinal amoebiasis (causative agent of dysentery amoeba);
- trichomoniasis urethritis (the causative agent of the vaginal trichomonas);
- Trichomonas vaginitis (causative agent of trichomonas vaginal);
- vaginitis of bacterial nature;
- giardiasis (a causative agent of the intestinal lamblia)
Pharmacodynamics
The drug belongs to the category of nitroimidazoles with pronounced antibacterial action. Seknidoks has a bactericidal effect (most active in relation to unicellular microorganisms like: vaginal trichomonas, dysenteric amoeba and lamblia intestinal) and amoeboid (in the whole intestine) action. Pharmacodynamic action occurs as a result of the penetration of the active substance into the middle of the microorganism. There, thanks to the 5-nitro group, secnidazole is restored and the cellular DNA begins to work. The cell of the microorganism dies due to damage to the structure of the spiral shape, destruction of the filaments and suppression of the integrity of nucleotides. The drug increases the resistance of the tumor to the effect on it, and also the patient becomes especially sensitive to alcohol intake.
Pharmacokinetics
Getting inside the body, the active substance penetrates through the semipermeable barrier between the blood and the nervous tissue, and then is excreted into breast milk. Bioavailability of 80%, this makes the drug simple for admission by patients and greatly simplifies the treatment regimen. Seknidazole quickly enough, without losing its properties is adsorbed in the gastrointestinal tract.
Dosing and administration

Adults:
For the treatment of trichomonadal urethritis and vaginitis, as well as bacterial vaginitis, 2 tablets of Seknidox should be taken once.
Two tablets of the drug should be taken only once for amebiasis of acute form. If Amoebiasis is asymptomatic, has a cystic or focal form - the patient is required to take every day for two per day, at least three days.
For the treatment of hepatic amoebiasis for five days, you should take 1.5 grams of Secretidox every day, splitting the dose into several doses.
If there is a lamblia in the body, the dosage will be two pipuli once a day. Take the medicine should be a duration of three days.
Children:
The drug is not intended for admission to children under the age of twelve.
To treat giardiasis, the drug is prescribed, subtracting a dose of 30 mg to multiply one kilogram of body weight individually.
Also used is Sexidox for the treatment of intestinal amebiasis in acute form. In focal, cystic or asymptomatic form of the disease, the drug is taken every day for three days, at a rate of 30 mg / kg of body weight.
For the treatment of liver amebiasis in a child, Seknidox should be taken daily at a rate of 30 mg / kg of body weight lasting five days.

Use of the sednidox during pregnancy
Data on the intake of the drug in the period of bearing no child. Reception of Seknidoksa in this period of time can have a teratogenic effect on the fetus.
The drug enters the mother's milk and can harm the child. If there is a need to use Seknidox during the feeding of a child, lactation should immediately stop.
Contraindications
To consume alcohol, if you are prescribed this drug is strictly prohibited. Interactions with other drugs
You should be careful when taking seksidazole along with indirect anticoagulants, as their joint use significantly increases the risk of bleeding.
The emergence of paranoid reactions and psychosis, will cause a combination of seksidazol with disulfiram. In addition, drinking alcohol will cause a disulfiramonopodnuyu reaction - spasms in the abdomen, nausea and vomiting, as well as dizziness.
The level of lithium in the body increases with the joint admission of Sekundox with lithium preparations.
It is not recommended to take secnidazole with nondepolarizing muscle relaxants, for example, vecuronium bromide.
If the drug is used to treat a peptic ulcer, then in association with amoxicillin, the activity of the bacterium increases.
