How to make rosehip oil?
Rosehip oil is prepared from the seeds of rose hips. To obtain the oil, the seeds must be crushed and poured with vegetable oil (1:10), then boiled over low heat for 10-15 minutes and infused for 6-7 hours.
Rosehip Oil Recipe
Rosehip oil comes in first, second and third grade.
To prepare first-grade oil, you will need rose hips ground into flour (previously washed and dried). Divide the rose hip flour into three equal parts and place them in three glass containers so that the flour occupies no more than half of the volume.
Then pour any refined vegetable oil heated to 40ºС into one of the containers so that the oil level is 5 cm above the rosehip flour, stir well (it should have the consistency of sour cream), if after stirring the oil level has decreased, add more. Then close the container tightly and put it in a dark place for 10 days. After that, drain the oil from the first container and pour it into the second (if the oil level is below 5 cm above the rosehip flour, you should add heated oil) and let it sit for 10 days again. Then drain the oil into the third container (if necessary, add oil heated to 40ºС) and leave for 10 days in a dark place. After that, strain the oil and store in a cool place.
To prepare second-grade oil, the remainder of three containers is transferred into one, filled with warm (40ºС) vegetable oil and left to infuse for a month in a dark place, then filtered and the finished oil is stored in a cool place. If you pour rosehip flour again and leave it in a dark place for 30 days, you will get third-grade oil.
