Innozyme is a medicine that helps improve digestive processes.
ATC classification
Active ingredients
Pharmacological group
Pharmachologic effect
Indications Innozyme
It is used for moderate and mild forms of disorders of the exocrine activity of the pancreas in connection with the development of chronic pancreatitis, and also to improve digestion processes in ulcerative colitis or IBS (colonic), as well as after gastric resection.
It is used to improve the digestion process in case of nutritional disorders (eating large amounts of food, eating fried, fatty or unusual foods, and also with irregular meals) or chewing activity, and also during conditions that cause prolonged immobility (long-term restriction of movement due to injuries or other diseases), or due to bloating.
The medicine is prescribed to adults during preparation for an ultrasound or X-ray of the peritoneum.
Release form
The substance is released in tablet form, 10 pieces per strip; a pack contains 10 such strips.
Pharmacodynamics
A complex medicine that acts under the influence of enzymes contained in its composition. These enzymes facilitate the digestion of carbohydrates with fats and proteins, and also provide more complete absorption of the former in the small intestine.
Bile extract helps emulsify fats, increases the activity of lipase and improves the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins with fats.
The enzyme hemicellulase helps break down plant fiber.
These medicinal properties help improve the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract and stabilize the digestive process.
Pharmacokinetics
The drug is not absorbed and acts within the lumen of the gastrointestinal tract. The tablet is protected by an acid-resistant coating that prevents the enzymes contained in the drug from being inactivated by gastric hydrochloric acid.
The shell dissolves when it enters the alkaline environment inside the small intestine (it is optimal for the development of enzymatic activity), with the subsequent release of enzymes.
Dosing and administration
An adult should take 1 tablet of the medicine with a small amount of liquid with each meal or immediately after it. Chewing the tablet is prohibited. If necessary, the dosage is doubled.
Therapy can last for a minimum of several days (in case of digestive disorders associated with errors in the diet) and a maximum of several months or even years (if regular replacement therapy is required due to chronic dystrophic-inflammatory pathologies in the liver, stomach, pancreas with intestines and gall bladder at the stage after irradiation or resection; also in the elderly).
When preparing for an ultrasound or X-ray of the peritoneum, 2-3 tablets of the drug should be taken per day for 2-3 days before the procedure.
