Pharmacodynamics

The medicine is a complex herbal preparation. It has sedative, hypnotic and weak antispasmodic properties. It relieves anxiety, irritability and excitability, and also stabilizes sleep.

The active components of valerian have a moderate hypnotic, sedative, and antispasmodic effect, reduce the excitability of the central nervous system and the severity of nervous tension, and in addition, help to speed up the onset of sleep. At the same time, they have choleretic properties and potentiate the secretory function of the gastrointestinal mucosa. Valerian also promotes the expansion of coronary vessels and is effective in tachycardia.

Essential mint oils promote reflex irritation of the mucous membrane endings, and at the same time have a sedative, antispasmodic, choleretic and hypnotic effect. They also relieve nausea and stimulate the activity of the digestive glands.

Active elements of lemon balm (citral with geraniol, as well as peral and menalool) have antihypertensive, sedative, antiarrhythmic and anticonvulsant properties. At the same time, they lead to the development of antispasmodic and mild choleretic effects, help improve digestive processes, and also stabilize the secretion of digestive enzymes and appetite.

Melissa helps to eliminate climacteric disorders and cure mild dysmenorrhea.

Reviews

Relaxil is considered to be a fairly effective medication. Patients note in their reviews that it is able to eliminate feelings of anxiety and irritability, as well as severe nervous tension. The medication was used in combination therapy for VSD and primary hypertension. The drug helped some women during menopause - taking it helped reduce heart rate and feelings of nervousness, as well as improve sleep. Relaxil is also well tolerated, and no significant negative effects were noted when taking it.

There are also many comments that the drug does not have the desired effect on insomnia, but it is necessary to remember that first of all this remedy is a sedative, not a sleeping pill. The drug will demonstrate effectiveness in sleep disorders caused by nervous tension observed during the day, with temporary situational insomnia. In such cases, it is recommended to use it not only in the evening, before bedtime, but also during the day, to prepare for a restful sleep during the day. But in the case of chronic insomnia, a consultation with a somnologist or neurologist is required, as well as the use of sleeping pills as prescribed.
