Pharmacokinetics

Pharmacokinetics Ravel SR are the processes occurring with the medication after administration. Indapamide is rapidly and completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Eating significantly slows down absorption, but does not affect the quality of absorption. The maximum concentration in the blood plasma is achieved 12 hours after taking a single dose. Repeated double dosage techniques cause concentration fluctuations to decrease, but this does not lead to its cumulation. Binding to plasma proteins at the level of 75-79%.

Raval is metabolized in the liver, the elimination period is 14-24 hours. 70% is excreted as metabolites, 5% unchanged and 20% with feces as inactive metabolites. If the medication is taken by patients with renal insufficiency, this does not affect the pharmacokinetics.

Dosing and administration

Side effects Ravel SR

Side effects of Ravel SR occur at elevated dosages or exceed the recommended treatment period. The medicine can cause arrhythmia, increased heart rate, orthostatic hypotension and hypokalemia (changes on the ECG). Most often, patients complain of headaches, nervousness, dizziness, asthenia, abdominal pain. In addition, constipation, diarrhea, dyspepsia, hepatic encephalopathy are possible.

Violations arise from all organs and systems. On the part of the urinary system, this manifests itself as polyuria, frequent infectious diseases and nocturia. If Ravel is prescribed to patients with impaired liver function, but this can cause encephalopathy and the diuretic should be discontinued. Long-term treatment causes the development of hyponatremia. Overdose

Overdose is possible with prolonged use of the drug and exceeding the recommended dosage. Symptoms of acute poisoning are manifested as violations of water-electrolyte balance, that is hypokalemia and hyponatremia. In addition, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headaches, confusion, convulsions, drowsiness are possible.

Treat an overdose of gastric lavage. Patients need to take activated charcoal or any other absorbent. It also requires restoration of the water-electrolyte balance. With other adverse symptoms, symptomatic therapy is performed according to the indications.

Interactions with other drugs
