Rubkin's tables are designed to study color vision and diagnose various forms and degrees of color pathology.

The set of tables contains two groups - the main one (tables 1 - 27), intended for differential diagnostics of forms and degrees of disorders of color vision, and the control (tables 28-48) - to clarify the diagnosis in the sometimes observed cases of aggravation, simulation and dissimulation.

Technique Polychrome tables of Rabkin for the study of color perception with pictures

The examinee is seated with his back to the window or light source and is offered to keep his head straight, without moving or turning it in different directions. The tables are placed in a strictly vertical plane at eye level of the subject at a distance of 0.5-1 m from it. The time of demonstration of one table should not exceed 5 seconds. It is not recommended to put tables on a table or keep them in an inclined plane: this can affect the accuracy of the methodology and conclusions of the study.

Normal performance

The answers of the researcher are entered in a special card for recording the color perception test data. The examiner read the table correctly, put a plus (+); if the table is read with difficulty, uncertainly, put a question mark (?); if wrong - the minus sign (-).

Comparing the answers of the researcher with the data given in the table for the diagnosis of chromatic abnormalities, the final diagnosis is established.
