Phytosed is a combined herbal medicine that has a significant sedative effect. The elements that make up its composition are complementary and can potentiate the therapeutic activity of the drug.

The use of the drug helps reduce mental stress, improves sleep, eliminates anxiety and stabilizes the work of the nervous system. At the same time, the therapy increases physical and intellectual activity in people with high fatigue associated with mental stress and tension.

Indications Phytosed

It is used for the following disorders:

  • irritability;
  • severe fatigue and other disorders observed in the mild stage of neurasthenia;
  • anxiety and fear without cause;
  • neuroses of different nature;
  • stress and nervous excitement;
  • sleep disorders;
  • asthenia in hypersthenic form;
  • NCD.

Release form

The release of the therapeutic substance is realized in tablets and capsules - 10 pieces inside a blister pack; inside a box - 2 such packs.

In addition, it is produced in the form of a tincture - inside glass or plastic bottles (volume 0.1 l).

Pharmacodynamics

The drug has a sedative effect, which is provided by its constituent elements.

The active components of hawthorn fruits (organic acids with flavonoids, etc.) reduce the excitability of the central nervous system, stabilize the heart rhythm, improve intracerebral and coronary blood flow and relieve dizziness.

The combination of bioactive elements of motherwort herb (glycosides with alkaloids, etc.), together with a strong sedative effect, provides an antihypertensive effect and reduces heart rate.

Hop cones contain resins, essential oil with flavonoids and other components that have a sedative effect.

Avenin, which is an indole alkaloid, and in addition B-vitamins and other components contained in oat fruits, have a positive effect on the nervous system and have a significant calming effect.

Herbs from medicinal lemon balm have calming, antidepressant and tonic properties.

Coriander fruits help develop a sedative effect in cases of increased nervous excitability.

Sweet clover herbs have a sedative effect.

With a single use of the drug, the medicinal effect develops after 60-90 minutes. The sedative effect lasts for approximately 2-4 hours.

Dosing and administration

The medicinal tincture must be taken orally, after dissolving the drug in liquid. Shake the bottle before use. The medicine can be used without reference to food intake. The portion size and duration of the course are selected by the attending physician, who takes into account the personal characteristics of the patient and the nature of the disorder.

The standard dose is 5 ml of the drug, taken 3-4 times a day. The duration of the treatment cycle is a maximum of 30 days. If necessary, after 10-15 days, a repeat course is allowed.

The medicine in tablets and capsules is swallowed whole and washed down with plain water. Fitosed in this form should be used 0.5 hours after eating.

The dosage of the drug is 1-2 tablets/capsules, 3-4 times a day. The treatment period should not last longer than 1 month. If necessary, a repeat cycle is allowed after 10-15 days.

  • Application for children

The medicine should not be used by persons under 12 years of age.

Use Phytosed during pregnancy

It is prohibited to prescribe Fitosed during pregnancy.

Contraindications

Main contraindications:

  • severe intolerance;
  • breastfeeding period;
  • bleeding disorders;
  • the presence of internal bleeding or a high risk of its occurrence.

Side effects Phytosed

When using the drug, side effects appear only occasionally. Among them are a decrease in blood pressure, heartburn, vomiting, sleep disorders and nausea. In addition, allergy symptoms may appear - epidermal rashes, itching and urticaria.

Overdose

As a result of poisoning with the drug, nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and signs of decreased blood pressure may develop.

It is necessary to immediately perform gastric lavage, give the patient enterosorbents and carry out other symptomatic actions.

Interactions with other drugs

When combining the drug with other substances that suppress the function of the nervous system, a significant potentiation of this effect may be observed.

Phytosed may reduce the therapeutic effect of levodopa.

Storage conditions

Fitosed must be stored in a place protected from moisture and small children.

Shelf life

Fitosed can be used for a period of 24 months from the date of manufacture of the medicinal product.

Analogues of the drug are the substances Corvaltab, Persen and Corvalment with Novo-Passit.
